1. How The Iranian People and Government Tackle COVID-19.

COVID-19 first appeared in Iran on February 19, 2020 and now Iran becomes the seventh country
most infectious with 39.309 cases and 2.640 deaths. But according to The Atlantic, the actual
number of cases occuring could be undercount. It’s happened because the Iranian Government try
to hide the situation when the first outbreak has entered the country.

It’s hard to Iranian people because the chain of dishonesty about the outbreak of COVID-19 started
in the Parliament. The first case in the Parliament revealed on February 28, 2020, meanwhile on
February 21, Iran still conducted elections in which only government –selected candidates could run
for office. Since then, some cases were exposed from the parliament members. Nonetheless,
because of the dishonesty many citizens didn’t really pay attention to the outbreak, they still
occuring the protest towards the parliament members.

The way Iran government handle the situations is quite accurate, according to WHO, when the first
time they came to Iran, Iran only hade 22 laboratories to handle the disease, but by the time WHO
left on March 10, with the government support, Iran has had 40 laboratories. The government also
has scaled up all elements due to the crisis, and the priority is in the health systems. Furthermore,
the president spokenman said the government has discussed about imposing strict lockdowns. Yet,
eventhough the government has taken care the situations, Iran is still struggling due to the rise of
cases and the prisoners combat.

2. How Acehnese people and Local Government Response to COVID-19 Scare.

In my humble opinion, how Acehnese and Local Government response towards COVID-19 outbreak
is quite limping. Perhaps it happened because we’re lack of health systems, not only in Aceh but also
in Indonesia. After all, it also has something to do with the citizens not obeying the government
announcement and there are many hoax outspread among Acehnese people.

When the first admonition was out about the case, Acehnese people still took it easy. They didn’t
implement what have been warned, to apply social/physical distancing. They still hanged out with
their groups in the cafes and any other places. So the government took one step further to come out
with another admonition, every activity requiring groupwork or masses will be stopped for the mean
time. Yet, you see, some people have their own rules and didn’t bother to obey the admonition.
Then until today, perhaps the government has been really furious about the situations so they come
out with curfew rules.

But I believe, nowadays situations are most likely undercontrol, bit by bit, there are many people
who have refelected the worst that could be happened if we’re still being rebelious. Eventhough the
government is still suffering to get help for the medical members; the Acehnese people themselves
are voluntarily involving to help the situations. This crisis to prevent the COVID-19 outbreak won’t be
diminished if there’s no colaboration between local government and the citizens.
