PERSONAL STATEMENT
A result driven, resourceful, flexible, organised and adaptable individual who is seeking a new challenging to career
with considerable working experience in various office environments. My attention to detail and excellent time
management skills means that every task is completed efficiently and to the highest possible standard. I am a hard-
working individual who strives to achieve the best in all areas and I am always eager to learn new skills and advance
my career. I have a calm and patient deposition meaning that I am able to work effectively under pressure and focus
on the task at hand. I work well in teams but also independently. I have excellent communication skills both orally
and verbally and pay greater attention to details in my work. I am dedicated and keen to improve any experience for
the benefit of me and the company that I work for. I am a very motivated person who is very keen to have a
successful career. I am now looking forward to making a significant contribution to an institution that offers a
genuine opportunity for progression.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
February 2019 - May 2019
Procurement Officer (Volunteer), Lutheran World Federation
While here, I provided support to the procurement team by carrying out general administrative duties and placing
orders for equipment and materials. My duties were monitoring inventory stock, negotiating with suppliers, ensure
smooth running of the office, participate and update the development and establishment of office registration,
policies, procedures and guidelines including as well as coordinate arrangements for meetings, visits, workshops and
conferences, related to projects.

 Oversaw quality control by supervising the department responsible for purchases and ensured that the
products and services that are purchased are of high quality. As a result, the organisation always had the
best goods and services at hand which improved its competitive advantage.
 Maintained accurate records of purchases and pricing and have all the relevant information concerning the
organization’s suppliers as well as updating records and follow up with vendors to check if the order is
being processed. This helped keep up to date information in case of an audit and also ensure transparency.
 Negotiated the best deals for the organization by keeping a level eye on all suppliers whilst maintaining
good relations with them. As a result, I was able to get the best suppliers of high quality goods and close
the deals at relatively low costs which in turn saved money which was later used to further develop the
organization and its employees.
 Resolved order problems such that if issues arise with shipments or orders are incorrect or late, i worked
with the supplier to resolve the issue which strengthened the relationships with key contacts within the
organization as well as suppliers, working with them closely to fix problems as quickly as possible.
 Monitored inventory stock by observing whether the appropriate items have arrived and determining what
needs to be reordered so as purchase orders can be made in advance to counteract stock running out.

Administration Assistant, Lutheran World Federation
In this role, I was responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of day to day activities in the office
accurately and in a timely manner. My duties were handling administrative requests and queries from senior
managers, organizing and scheduling appointments with admin software, planning meetings and taking detailed
minutes, act as the point of contact for internal and external clients, explained company personnel policy, benefits,
and procedures to employees or job applicants and planned and coordinated logistics and materials for board
meetings, committee meetings and staff events.

 Effectively handled internal and external mail/courier distribution by ensuring efficient and timely delivery
and dispatch whilst maintaining an orderly mail/courier register. This aided in keeping the employees
updated in regards to information they have received and also kept the office neat since there were no
undelivered mail lying around.
 Maintained physical and digital employee records such as employment contracts, PTO requests and other
basic information including names, date of birth and next of kin. The updated register helped in ensuring
that senior management especially Human Resources, when need arose, have the right information to make
informed decisions regarding the organisation’s staff. I as well gained the experience in digital record
keeping.
 Effectively scheduled job interviews to ensure that the people in charge are available to conduct them and
that the premises are available to hold the numbers of interviewees. This as in addition to contacting
qualified candidates as needed.
 Ensured the security and confidentiality of records through proper filing both digitally and hard copy by
ensuring no physical harm come to them in terms of tearing or water getting in contact with the papers and
ensuring there is no breach digitally by always ensuring the computer and passwords are not shared to
anyone else in the office.
 Carried out timely and accurate budgeting for the records department to ensure that everything needed was
available as well as facilitate activities like training and projects like digitization. This increased my
knowledge on budgeting as well as helped achieve organizational projects.

Research Assistant, International Organisation For Migration
During my tenure here, I was responsible for the designing, administration and monitoring of research trials by
analysing and evaluating clinical data gathered during research and ensuring compliance with protocol and overall
research objectives. My duties were developing materials and methods for data collection and analysis, complete
field, gather data and maintain accurate records for the laboratory as well as provide first class communication and
collaboration with coworkers.

 Accurately collected and analyzed data to ensure no errors were made and stored using specialized software
to ease the process of decoding and encoding.
 Supported in preparing interview questions to ensure the questions will bring the desired research outcome
and hit the research objective. This was in addition to handling requisitions of research equipment or
supplies necessary for the completion of the project.
 Effectively provided practical advice to organization staff on how to handle records both on paper and
electronic for example a proper filing system and teaching them how to use different software. This ensured
security of the collected data as well as arming the team I am part of new skills.
 Managed project related correspondence especially emails and managed to always respond accurately and
in a timely manner to ensure that the project’s sponsors are updated and satisfied with the work done for the
purpose of continued project funding.

While here, I was in charge of maintaining and updating databases by entering accurate and up to date information
to be easily reused as and when need arose. My duties were inserting customer and account data by inputting text
based and numerical information from source documents within time limits, compiling, verifying accuracy and
sorting information according to priorities to prepare source data for computer entry, reviewing data for deficiencies
or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output, researching and obtaining further information
for incomplete documents and applying data program techniques and procedures.

 Accurately collected company data and entered in into the database whilst maintaining accuracy at all
levels. This helped in ensuring there is up to date data ready for use at all times for management to make
informed decisions as and when need arose.
 Compiled and verified accuracy by scanning the information using different systems including individuals
and digital so as to ensure accuracy. This was in addition to sorting the information to prepare source data
for computer entry.
 Reviewed data for deficiencies or errors whilst correcting any incompatibilities and checking the output.
This was in addition to sorting and classification of mail for filing by retrieving called for mail and
information for the files by the various action officers.

Sales person, Knoledge Edge

While here, I actively sought out and engaged customer prospects in order to boost company revenue growth,
customer acquisition levels and profitability. My duties were present, promote and sell products/services using solid
arguments to existing and prospective customers, perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential
customers to meet their needs, establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships and
reach out to customer leads through cold calling.

 Advised customers regarding company products and services by providing information on the different
products which in turn helped me make research on the said products and boost my knowledge for further
sales opportunities.
 Helped customers make selections of desired products by building customer confidence through talking to
them and offering advice on products as well as offering suggestions and opinions.
 Documented sales by creating or updating customer profile records to ensure there was availability of
updated information so as to make informed decisions regarding new materials and already existing
materials on the market.
 Processed customer payments by totaling purchases, processing checks, cash, and store or other credit
cards. This was in addition to keeping the clientele informed regarding new products by notifying them of
preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest.
