Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates understanding of how pre-colonial Philippinie Literature and other text types
lead him/her to connect to his/her past, embrace Filipino culture and identity through various reading
styles, creative writing compositions, oral language fluency activities, viewing and listening texts and
observing correct subject-verb agreement in order to appreciate oneself.
Performance Standard:
The learner transfers learning by: showing appreciation for the literature of the past; comprehending texts using
appropriate reading styles; participating in conversations using appropriate context-dependent expressions;
producing English sounds correctly and using the prosodic features of speech effectively in various situations;
and observing correct subject-verb agreement.
I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
a. recognize stress and intonation that serve as carriers of meaning;
b. listen for important points signaled by stress and intonation;
c. note the changes in stress and intonation that affect the meaning; and
d. demonstrate the proper use of stress and intonation by reading a text.

III. PROCEDURE

A. Customary Activities

The teacher asks a student to lead a prayer, greets the students and then asks them to keep
away unnecessary things from their desks.

A. Review

The teacher asks the students about their previous lesson.

B. Motivation
The teacher divides the class into four. The teacher presents a game entitled: ARRANGE ME
AND SAY IT RIGHT! then, discusses the mechanics of the game.

C. Presentation of the Lesson


The teacher asks the students about what they noticed in the game and asks the students about
their idea of today’s lesson based from the activity.

D. Discussion / Analysis
The teacher and students discuss the following:

Stress is the relative emphasis that may be given to certain syllables in a word, or to certain
