Ans. The poet says so as the loss of a ball was real for the boy and there was no use to console him by
saying that he has lost just a ball which can be replaced by other balls.

Ans. The word ‘balls’ signify the innocence of the young boy, his childhood and the memories
associated with it.
Ans. The boy’s eyes are desperate because he is hopeless after the loss of his ball.
Ans. Every man needs to know the harsh reality of life that one day we will lose our loved ones and our
loved things but we need to stand up from those losses.
