2.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In Uganda, Agri-business is a factor that we can’t leave unattended to. The majority of people
in Ivukula subcounty as well as Namutumba District also depend on agriculture but due to
limited capital and lack of sensitization, most of them do subsistence farming.
IACFA SAACO is an implemented solution to the above; it focuses mainly on supporting
agri-business people by giving them loans for capital, availing them with information of
where to find quality inputs with their respective prices and getting market for the produces
and also training our members with the best agriculture practices and financial management.
As we focus on all we are supposed to attend to as IACFA, we haven’t yet done the best to
our priority which is agri-business due to limited funds solicited from memberships and
annual subscriptions, also we are still lacking proper management systems and modified
proper ways of delivering our services to our members.
In this proposal, we are looking forward, to raising funds in our pool so that we be able to
support an increased number of people mainly in Agri-business in Ivukula sub-county, have
systematic and digitized management systems and establish an office so that we can give
standard and quality services to the people of Ivukula.

3.0 INTRODUCTION
Ivukula Archdeaconry Christian Farmers Sacco (IACF SAACO) is a self-driven society with
an equal equality social economic service delivery system that aim at enhancing community
participation, free information sharing and income generation empowerment.
It was started by 10 church leaders in Ivukula subcounty with a membership fee of 10,000
each and the number has now increased to 50 members in addition to 40 members of ITYA
who are youth and 25 members who are church ministers making a total of 105 members.
IACF SAACO is a central management of the other two SACCOs which were birthed in our
two years of operation (Ivukula Twezimbe Youth Association and Ivukula Tweyambe
Association) and being the mother is responsible for their growth and development

4.0 BACKGROUND
The ITYA SAACO aims at sustainable income generation in Ivukula subcounty and focuses
mainly on Agri-businesses and for this matter, it is trying to give a chance to all members in
Ivukula where by so far, we have given birth to other two sub saccos (ITYA and ITA)
Most people from Ivukula subcounty are agriculturalist. The majority of them depend on
agriculture as it is in Namutumba district.
It has been unfortunate that over years, most of these people practice substance farming due
to ignorance and lack of enough capital. In our consideration to boost agriculture sector in
this area, we are looking at promoting all agri-business activities and this will task us to do
quite a number of activities including identifying the specific agri-business activity, giving
proper training to the members, support them in allocation of quality inputs available markets
with the respective prices as well as products/output markets. A number of projects we are
focusing on include; large scale poultry farming, piggery, cultivation, bee keeping among
others and it has to be on a large scale.
This requires proper preparation for management and facilitation where we a minding about
the amount we have which is not enough for giving loans, office, staffing, putting up proper
management systems(digitized) all for a period of 3 years where we expect to have projects
in place that can sustain the operations.
