CONSOLIDATED REPORT

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING

As per the mail from Prof. P. K. Acharya (Research Coordinator, Department of Civil
Engineering), data regarding research activities has been collected from the faculties specialized
in the field of Transportation Engineering. Following points have been concluded based on the
reports obtained from faculties.
 A total of 3 journal papers and 2 book chapters have been published during the period from
January – May 2020. These have been published by Prof. B. Beriha, Prof. M. Mohanty,
Prof. Satya Samal, and Prof. R. Panda.
 Similarly, 7 manuscripts have been submitted and are under review which have been
authored by Prof. M. Mohanty, Prof. B. Beriha, Prof. B. Panda, Prof. M. L. Pattanaik, and
Prof. D. R. Biswal.
 Prof. B. Beriha has also been actively collaborating with faculties from IIT Bhubaneswar
and Oklahoma University for his research.
 3 faculties have planned to submit research proposals; Out of which Prof. D. R. Biswal
aims to submit the proposal within next three months, while Prof. B. Beriha and Prof. M.
Mohanty have intended to submit their proposals by the end of this year.
 Only Prof. D. R. Biswal (from Transportation Engineering field) is supervising two Ph.D.
students as of now with one student having started with literature review and other has
completed nearly 30 percent of his assigned work.
 Due to no M.Tech program in Transportation Engineering field, faculties are not able to
supervise any M.Tech students. Still, Prof. D. R. Biswal and Prof. M. Mohanty have been
allotted M.Tech students in other specializations.
 5 faculties are working on pavement materials and analysis for their B.Tech student
projects, and the rest faculties are involved in studies concerning traffic studies, operations,
and management.
