Story Telling Competition (Year 4 to Year 6)

Aim

1) Strengthen contestants' confidence in speaking English.

2) Make English learning fun through storytelling.

3) Stimulate contestants' creativity and improve their oral presentation skills

Tasks

a) 5 representatives from each class.

b) Storytellers must finish presenting their story within 7 to 11 minutes.

c) Storytellers may recite the story from any publishing titles, personal experienced stories
or self created stories.

Judging Criteria

Pronunciation, intonation, gesture and content carry higher allocation of marks at 35%, 25%
20% and 20% respectively.

Prizes

Prizes are awarded to the first prize, second prize, third prize and 2 consolations prizes

Closing Date

The closing date for the above mentioned competition is on the 2 nd March 2012.
English Singing Competition (Year 1 to Year 3)

Aim

1) To stimulate students to practice, activate and extend their English vocabulary.

2) To allow students to have fun while learning about the language.

3) Stimulate students' creativity and improve their presentation skills.

b) Students must finish presenting their song within 4 to 5 minutes.

Judging Criteria

Pronunciation, intonation and gesture carry higher allocation of marks at 20%, 20% and 10%
respectively.

Prizes

Prizes are awarded to the first prize, second prize, third prize and 2 consolations prizes

Closing Date

The closing date for the above mentioned competition is on the 2 nd March 2012.
Spelling Bees

Aim

1) To stimulate students to practice, activate and extend their English vocabulary.

2) To allow students to have fun while learning about the language.

3) Encourage everyone to use English as far as possible and not to give up too easily.
