REPORT ABOUT PUBLIC SPEAKING WORKSHOP

BY JEF T JOY(1927458)

Public speaking is the process of communicating information to an audience. It is usually

done before a large audience, like in school, the workplace and even in our personal lives.
The benefits of knowing how to communicate to an audience include sharpening critical
thinking and verbal/non-verbal communication skills.

The workshop was well organised by Nimishamba and she did a good job in moderating and
giving feedback about our public speaking skills. There were tips given at the end the session
to the participants which have the potential to help many of us in the future. The co-ordinator
also motivated each and every one to speak.

The correction which I received was about fillers and mumbling in between. I also was afraid
facing a big crowd but later was given tips regarding how to handle such situations and also I
was asked not to stay still while speaking and to move around in manner which would help
me use the dais effectively

The session had lot of learning and every person was engaged in the activities properly.
Public speaking is a must required skill for management students as there are many situations
in which one has to present their views to a large crowd. There was time constraint which
was limited for personal feedback otherwise the workshop went well. This was a good
experience overall.
