Aesop was a legendary sixth-Century BC Greek fabulist. He travelled throughout
ancient Greece, re-telling his quirky fables in which animals were cast with human characteristics in order to express an accompanying moral. Apparently, Aesop never recorded his fables on paper. However, his work survived through fable collections published by Phaedrus and Babrius in the first Century AD.
