10Th GRADE WEDNESDAY

WARM UP: The teacher will ask the students to recall on the topic prisoners of conscience.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher will tell the students that the objective of this class is to learn new
vocabulary and to practice reading comprehension related to Amnesty International.

PRESENTATION: The teacher will ask the students what they know about Amnesty International
and then will explain briefly connecting with the topic studied in the previous class.

EVALUATION: The students will have to read the text about Amnesty International on pages 20 to
21 from the booklet, in order to answer some questions. (TO BE GRADED!)

WRAP-UP: The teacher will ask the students to give conclusions about the topics treated in class.

* The teacher will provide guidance the whole time.

8TH GRADE

LITERATURE

WARM UP: The teacher will ask the students form the lines a to get ready for presenting a quiz.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher will tell the students that the objective of this class is to asses their
performance in reading comprehension and vocabulary.

PRESENTATION: The teacher will explain the students how is the quiz structure.

EVALUATION: The teacher will have to answer a Quiz (THE PRICE OF PEACE FINAL TEST). (TO BE
GRADED!)

WRAP-UP: The teacher will ask the students about their performance on the quiz.
* The teacher will provide guidance the whole time.

WARM-UP: The teacher will ask the students what their favorite part of nature is, animals?
landscapes?

INTRODUCTION: The teacher will tell the students that the objective of this class is to prepare for
and against arguments to discuss in a debate as well as to go over the vocabulary needed whilst
participating in the debate. The debate will be next class.

PRESENTATION: The teacher will explain the students the rubrics for the debate: Organization of
arguments, use of facts and statistics, reffutal, Knowledge of the topic.

The thesis for the debate is: We believe that endangered species should be protected.

TASK: Based on the general topic of unit 3 from the book "explorer", the students will gather in
groups and prepare the points for and against the thesis, using the information included in the
book (unit 3) and their knowledge on the topic. Every student will complete a chart with the
information they prepared in groups: Thesis, arguments for, arguments against, I am for/ against
the thesis because...

WRAP-UP: The students will share what was more difficult to establish: the arguments for or the
ones against the thesis.

WARM UP: The teacher will ask the students if they remember any famous detectives from
literature.

INTRODUCTION: The students will draw a detective, considering the characteristics in the
following categories: appearance, dwelling, hobbies, character and abilities.

PRESENTATION: Then, they will compare the features they represented with the ones on page 70
ex.1, they have to classify each word into the corresponding category.

TASK: The students will start answering different exercises on page 71 (2-6) related to the reading
about Agatha's Christie.

WRAP-UP: The students will contrast how similar and different the detective on the passage is to
the one they created .

* The teacher will provide guidance and feedback the whole time.

TUTORING SESSION: This day the teacher will work on the Tutoring Session with the students by
solving the grammar exercises from the book English in mind 3A pg 20.

MONDAY 13 8 F Tuesday 14 8G 1ST HOUR

WARM UP: The teacher will ask the students if they know what an informal email is.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher will tell the students that the objective of this class is to identify key
elements while writing an informal email.
PRESENTATION: the teacher will ask the students to read the text on page 74 and together will
discuss about the characteristics of the text.

TASK: The students will have to answer the exercises of pages 74 and 75 of the book. Exercise 7 on
page 75 must be done in the notebook.

WRAP-UP: Students will get a feedback reply-to their email- from their peers.

* The teacher will provide guidance and feedback the whole time.

TUESDAY 14TH 8F Y 8G

WARM-UP: the teacher will ask the students about the topics recently studied.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher will explain that the purpose of the class is to go over the topics
studied the previous week, by correcting the activities on the book.

PRESENTATION: The teacher will ask the students about the tasks from pages 64 to 69, focusing on
the ones they had difficulties.

TASK: The students will switch the books among them and along with the teacher will correct all
the activities. The teacher will answer the queries the students may have.

WRAP-UP: The students will express which are the topics they need to review the most.

WEDNESDAY 8G Y THURSDAY 8F

WARM-UP: The teacher will ask the students about the difficulties they have when taking reading
tests.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher will explain the purpose of the class is to learn techniques to improve
the performance on PET Reading exercises.
PRESENTATION: The teacher will show them 6 wanted posters to read and match with a specific
crime. The teacher will write on the board the 6 crimes and the students will use their skills to
deduce what was the crime committed by every wanted person based on their descriptions.

They will write the match in their notebooks.

TASK. Students will be given the beginning of an article paragraph.

They will be in a race and should read the beginning of their text and then move around the room
reading the sections their partners have until they find their missing half. When they find it, they
will discuss together and decide what is the topic of the text they have as well as the main idea.

WRAP-UP. Students will share which activity they like the most and the least by giving reasons
related to their reading skills improvement.

Thursday 16TH 1ST HOUR 8G WEDNESDAY 15TH 8F

WARM UP: The teacher will take the students to the lab and they will organize in the computers
using their personal code.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher will tell the students that the objective of this class is to assess their
performance in the PET Reading: Parts 4 and 5.

PRESENTATION: The teacher will ask the students what do they remember of the PET Reading:
Parts 4 and 5; and what are some key tips to answer them properly.

EVALUATION: The students will have to answer a PET Reading: Part 4 and 5 test (Digital). (TO BE
GRADED!)

WRAP-UP: The teacher will ask the students about their performance in the exercise, and which
they think were their strengths and weaknesses.

* The teacher will provide guidance and feedback the whole time.
THURSDAY 8G 2ND HOUR

WARM UP: The teacher ask the students if they have ever seen interrogation scenes on TV, and if
they remember the most common questions crime suspects are asked.

INTRODUCTION: The teacher informs students that a terrible crime was committed the previous
night and that together will find the guilty party. Crime: A birthday cake was stolen from the
classroom.

PRESENTATION: The teacher tells the students that they are suspected of commiting this crime
and that they will soon be interrogated so, they need to prepare their alibis.

TASK: students into pairs prepare themselves a solid alibi. In this part of the activity they should
use past perfect simple and past perfect continuous. Eg.: I had been studying all day, so I went to
bed early., It had already disappeared when I got to the classroom.

They can use the information from the book Pg 158-GR5.

Then the students are given ten minutes to flesh out their alibis and make sure their stories match.
For example, what time did they arrive and leave? What were they wearing? What did they eat
and drink? What had they been doing?

The teacher selects the first pair of suspects and ask one of them to leave the room for two
minutes. The remaining members of the class play the role of detectives and question the
remaining suspect, for example, What time did you meet? How did you get to the restaurant?
What had you been ding before that? Etc. The teacher will correct any mistakes made. And the
students should take notes in their notebooks to help them catch inconsistencies in the suspects’
stories.

WRAP-UP: All the group should decide who are the guilty ones.
