APPENDIX-I

BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND PROJECT BRIEF OF THE PROPOSED


PROJECT

1. PROJECT TITLE: World Trade Centre Business Club

2. PROJECT LOCATION: 102-103 Agrabad C/A, Chattogram

3. IMPLEMENTING AGENCY: Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI)

4. PROJECT BACKGROUND:

4.1. Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is the owner of the World Trade
Centre Chittagong (WTC Chittagong) Building at 102-103 Agrabad C/A, Chattogram. The
building has 3 basement floors and 21 stories high (298 feet/90.70 meters).

4.2. There is a podium like segment of circa 40,500 sft each floor up to 8th Floor (9 Levels
including Ground Floor). From 9th Floor there are 12 levels up to 20th Floor with an area of
circa 14,500 sft per floor. The total built up area is circa 670,600 sft.

4.3. The building is partially occupied up to 7th floor level. The CCCI itself operates from the 3rd
Floor occupying a portion of the floor plate.

4.4. The superstructure is already complete according to the original plan, barring the façade
glazing of the Tower between 8th and 21st floors. Major electro-mechanical installations
(Up-Side) are down including some Low-Side installations on the rentable office floors up to
8th floor. Only three elevators rising up to the 7th floor is installed.

4.5. CCCI intends to take up a project to house a “World Trade Centre (WTC) Business Club” with
Up-scale Guest Room Facilities in the building. CCCI have primarily earmarked the 6th, 7th
and 8th Floors for the Club House, while the 17th, 18th and 19th for the Guest Rooms. This
is the broad program, however, this scope involves various support and ancillary facilities to
fully serve the purpose. The outline scope would be:

 World Trade Centre (WTC) Club House


 Convention Hall and Business Centre
 Banquet Hall
 Club Game Centre, Club Office
 Guest Rooms and Executive Lounge
 Swimming Pools, Spa and Health Clubs
 Drink Lounges
 Central Kitchen and Bakery
 Central Laundry
5. COST AND SOURCE OF FUND:

Cost of the project will be estimated and finalized upon the submission of designer’s budgetary
documentation. The fund will be arranged by CCCI out of its own fund and financial support
institution, if required.

6. TIME OF COMPLETION:

The project is conceived to be completed in 24 m o n t h s ’ time from the date of


commencement.

7. IMPLEMENTING AGENCY:

CCCI will be the implementing agency for this project and the project will be implemented and
managed by Kaymonto & Partners as the project management consultant.
