ISO 45001 CONTEXT OF THE ORGANIZATION

Every organization operates in an environment that impacts and often times defines how they
operate. As such to operate effectively, an organization must make a conscious effort to analyse is
business environment and come up with ways to addresses the issues that have or may have on
sustained success of the organization.

ISO 45001 requires the organization to come up with the way of determining the issues from its
business environment that are external and internal in nature. These external issues are factors
and/or conditions that exists outside the organization but may have an impact on the organization.
Internal issues are factors and /or conditions that exists within the organization.

This clause is designed to make organization responsive to its changing nature of business
environment an organization will be working so that it can proactively engage in its business on a
continuing basis.
