Rationale:
The researchers chose the topic EFFECTIVENESS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION
OF THE BANNING OF CELLPHONES INSIDE THE SCHOOL PREMISES due to their
interest regarding the implementation of the policy which is perceived by the
researchers as a “subsidiary policy” and aside from that, the respondents involved in
these study perceive the implementation of the policy to be deterrent in their
academics.The vitality of these study is that, institutions would know whether the policy
is effective to implement inside school premises and recognize its benefits and
drawbacks upon implementing the policy.The people or organizations that would benefit
these study are the following:Students would know whether the implementation of the
policy is effective;Academic Institutions would recognize whether implementing the
policy is effective and whether it is still necessary to implement inside their
premises;Future Researchers benefit in this study is that this would serve as basis in
their future research and provide solution which regards to the arising of issues
regarding cellphone involvement.The researchers main objective in conducting this
study is to know the effectiveness of the implementation of the policy and whether is it
still necessary for academic institutions to implement the policy inside their premises.
Research Design
The researchers uses basic qualitative research design that will attempt to uncover
the participants’ experiences, the meaning the participant ascribes to those
experiences, or a process on how effectively implemented the banning of cellphones in
Davao Central College. The said research is used to investigate the experiences of
senior high school students in banning of cellphones inside the school premises. The
researchers can inquire actual experiences inside the school, what those experiences
mean to the participants and the transformative nature of the experiences. A basic
qualitative research design will not focus solely on beliefs, opinions, attitudes, or ideas
about things.The beliefs, opinions, etc. might emerge as part of one’s findings but are
not the purpose for conducting a basic qualitative research design.
