purpose analog weight indicator with the
following features:
• 6 digit, 7 segment, 0.56" LED display
• Full numeric keypad
• LED indicators for modes and functions
• Outputs, and two (2) inputs for external
switches
• Choice of AC only or Battery & AC power.
C A U T I O N
The 2300 is factory set for 117 VAC operation.
For 220VAC operation, settings must be changed before
powering up.
Some of the intended applications for the 2300 Series Instrument are listed below.
• Floor scales • Bench scales
• Hopper scales • Truck scales
• Tank weighing assemblies
1.2.2. Approvals

Composite = Non-wash-down, Stainless Steel = Hand wash-down Only
POWER • 117 or 220 Volt AC, 60 Hertz grounded source.
REQUIREMENTS OR
• 6 "D" cell batteries.
• It is highly recommended that the proper grounds/shields from the base or
junction box to the instrument be used.
• Power consumption: Approximately four (4) watts.
INSTRUMENT • Number of Load Cells:
CAPABILITES – Eight (8) each 350 ohm cells.
– Sixteen (16) each 1000 ohm cells.
• Division Size: .0002 to 50.
• Counts/div: 500,000 internal counts available
• Cable lengths: 18 gage cable, absolute maximum of 500 feet. (Must use
sense leads over 25').
• Excitation voltage: Pulsating (chopped) DC excitation measures approx.
5.00 DCV (true RMS) at TB1-1 to TB1-2
[reading (–) Excite to (+) Excite on instrument terminal strip].
• Approximately 100 hrs. of battery life using alkalines; battery life varies by
manufacturer, electrical load and actual usage.
– With one (1) load cell, battery life equals one hundred plus (100+) hours.
2.1.2. Unpacking
Follow these guidelines when unpacking all equipment:
Check in all components and accessories according to the customer's order.
Remove all components from their packing material, checking against the
invoice that they are accounted for and not damaged.
• Advise the shipper immediately, if damage has occurred.
• Order any parts necessary to replace those which have been damaged.
• Keep the shipping container and packing material for future use.
• Check the packing list.
Collect all necessary installation manuals for the equipment and
accessories.
Open the equipment and perform an inspection, making certain
that all hardware, electrical connections, and printed circuit
assemblies are secure.
Do not reinstall the cover if the final installation is to be
performed after the pre-installation checkout.
2.1.4. Safety
Follow these safety precautions during operation:
Properly shut down the equipment and
remove power before any cables or hardware
is disconnected.
Unplug the power cord to the equipment after
a proper shut down before servicing the
equipment.
OR…
3b. Set AC Power for 220 VAC.
3c. Confirm setting.
3d. Place the jumper into only the
center position "B".
Summary:
All RS232 Serial Cable must be limited to fifty feet (50’).
All scale components must be located at least thirty-six inches (36”) away
from all high energy circuits and conductors.
No electric arc welding around any scale components.
SENSE LEADS must be used when cable runs are longer than twenty-five feet
(25’).
• When using PCB 20771, cut the jumpered links LK1 and LK2.
• When using PCB 15630, there are no sense links.
─ Use jumper wires for a four (4) wire connection.
─ The wires are removed for a six (6) wire connection.

─ The instrument displays an error code (LoSPAn) if the weight amount used
is less than that.
• Ensure scale platform is empty before calibrating.
• If the Division Size is changed, the scale must be recalibrated.
Calibration is complete.

SPECIFICATIONS
Resolution 16 bit
Integral Linearity +/- .01
Full scale settling time 8 mSecs.
Output impedance 25 meg
Alarm current 3.5 to 24 mA (underload/overload conditions)
Offset @ 25 degrees C +/- .1% of full scale
Offset drift +/- 25 ppm of full scale per degree C
Total output error (20mA) @ 25 degrees C: +/- .2% of full scale
max.
Total output drift +/- 50 ppm of full scale per degree C max
For supplying signal levels other than 4 to 20mA, use the formula example shown
below.
Supply voltage = 12V
4mA x 500 ohms = 2V
20mA x 500 ohms = l0V
