1.       Customer inquiries about membership

 QUESTION: What are the membership fees for community members?


 ANSWER: I am glad you are showing interest in being a member of the Campus
Recreation. The membership fee for community member, which is individuals not
affiliated to with UMKC, is $35/month.

 QUESTION: I am a member of the Campus Rec. Does the Campus Rec offer
parking? Is it free? If not, does the Campus Rec sell parking passes?
 ANSWER: It is good that you asked about parking. There is no free parking on
campus day or night. We do sell parking passes to community members. You can
contact the membership office to purchase the passes in its operational hours.

 QUESTION: How do I check if my membership has expired?


 ANSWER: I can check this information right here for you. You just need to type
your ID (or slide your card in case of the new system) and I will be able to verify
your expiration date. If it has already expired you can go to the membership office
to renew your membership or you can also pay it online by using the Touchnet tool
available on our website.

 QUESTION: I would like to bring a guest with me on my next work out. How does
it work?
 ANSWER: You can bring up to two guests a day. Daily Guest Pass with a member
costs $7 per day. Just a reminder: You must stay with your guests at all times,
except when guests of a different gender are using locker room facilities. Guests
must be 18 years of age or older, be with a sponsor who can show a valid
membership card and show valid photo identification. The payment will be
processed here at the welcome desk.
We also accept guests without a sponsor. The daily guest pass WITHOUT a
sponsor costs $10 per day.

 QUESTION: I have a visitor in my home for about one week. Do you sell weekly
passes?
 ANSWER: Yes, we do. The Weekly Pass costs $20.

 QUESTION: My membership expired yesterday and the membership office is


closed. How do I pay online?
 ANSWER: Great idea! You need to go to the Campus Rec website.
(https://www.umkc.edu/recreation). Right on the home page there is a link to
membership. Open this link and click on the dark blue square: Pay with Touchnet.
By clicking there you are going to be able to renew your membership.

 QUESTION: I am a full-time student at UMKC. Have I already paid the fee?


 ANSWER: Yes, the campus rec fee is included in your tuition payment.

 QUESTION: I am a faculty at UMKC. Do I need to pay anything to be a member?


 ANSWER: Yes, the membership option for UMKC payroll-compensated faculty
and staff costs $20/month. Payroll deduction is available for benefit-eligible
employees with at least a 3-month membership purchase - Member is responsible
for canceling their payroll deduct if they cancel their membership. Must show proof
of occupation with Faculty/Staff ID. Retired UMKC Faculty Staff are eligible for
this membership as well.

 QUESTION: Can I add a household in my membership?


 ANSWER: Yes. You can do it in the membership office. All current member types
may add up to two household members for an additional $15 per month, per person.
A second household member may be added if the individual is a legal
parent/guardian or the child of the existing member. Household members must be
18 years or older and provide proof of residence. The second add-on must provide a
birth certificate or proof of guardianship.

2. Customer inquiries about the pool

 QUESTION: I want to use the pool. Is it open all the time?


 ANSWER: Unfortunately not. We have specific times for the pool operations. You
can check the time if you go to our website and click on the “facilities and hours”
tab. Or you can call and check with our staff.

 QUESTION: Is there a sauna or steam room at Campus Rec?


 ANSWER: Yes. Actually we have both of them. They are both located right in
front of the pool. The hours of operation are the same as the pool operation hours.

 QUESTION: How deep is the pool?


 ANSWER: Pool depth ranges from 4 to 13 feet. There is a separate training well in
the shallow end.
 QUESTION: How many lanes does the pool have?
 ANSWER: It has six 25-yard lap lanes

 QUESTION: Does the Campus rec offer swimming classes?


 ANSWER: I’m sorry. We don’t offer.

 QUESTION: How do I get to the pool from the welcome desk?


 ANSWER: You just need to go downstairs. You can take the stairs next to the desk
or there is an elevator at the end of the hall. In the first floor there is an indication
on the hall. You are going to pass around the service center, go straight to the hall
between the lockers. The door at the end of this hall will give you access to the
pool area.

       3. Customer inquiries about the operational hours

 QUESTION: What time the membership office and the other offices are open?
 ANSWER: The membership office and all the offices are open from Monday to
Friday, 9am - 6pm.

 QUESTION: I would like to know the time of the follow game/event________.


Could you check this information for me?
 ANSWER: Sure! I will check the calendar (located in the third laptop at the
welcome desk) and I will get back to you. * in case you don’t find the game/event
you can call the membership office and ask them.

 QUESTION: What time does Swinney open/close today?


 ANSWER: * Check “Facilities and Hours” tab on Swinney website, usually on
one of the monitors at welcome desk.

4. Customer inquiries about locker room/ service

 QUESTION: Can I use my own lock on one of the lockers?


 ANSWER: We provide members with locks! You can check one out at the
service center for the day or you can rent a locker with the membership office
for longer periods.
 QUESTION: Can I leave contents in a locker overnight?
 ANSWER: Locks checked out at the service must be returned on the same day.
You can rent a lock with the membership office if you need it for longer periods.

 QUESTION: Is court/studio X available?


 ANSWER: Most of our free recreation spaces are first come, first served. You
can check the at Welcome desk if any of them is being used for an event.

 QUESTION: Do you have any first aid supplies?


 ANSWER: Yes, what exactly do you need? * Check first aid box behind the TV
wall. If injury is too serious, call B-sup

5. Customer inquiries about equipment rentals

 QUESTION: How do I check out an equipment?


 ANSWER: It’s very simple! You just have to type in your ID and ask for one of
our attendants which item you would like to check out. Make sure you check the
item in by again by the end of the same day.

 QUESTION: What kind of equipment can I check out?


 ANSWER: At this station, we offer: locks, towels, basketballs (men and women),
soccer balls, racquetballs, racquetball racquets, badminton net, shuttlecock,
badminton racquet, and volleyballs.
