Introduction
It cannot be denied that man is a dreamer and ambitious. But he must be industrious to achieve
his dreams and ambitions.

not only meaningful but enriching as well. Primitive tools have undergone innovations and research to
suit modernization.
Gadgets have undergone development and improvement through scientific study called research.
Your cellular phones have evolved from the mechanical telephone, wired telephone, cellular phone with
antenna, to the present day touch screen phones.
After this lesson, you are expected to perform this learning competency:

Lesson 2.1 Importance of Research
Research has many values to man. If man’s problems exist, research is born as an
instrument of great power to fight the problems. When man faces problems he seeks solution to
solve it.
Before research can be conducted, it must be understood. But before you can understand,
you must learn. If you will understand and learn the beauty of research, progress will come in.
Research is a vital contributory factor for progress. As progress is moving toward the goal,
research contributes to its movement.
Once man has encountered major problems, this demands for research in order to reduce
the burden of work, to relieve suffering, to increase suffering in many ways, and to satisfy man’s
needs. For instance, modern appliances were invented to help people.

development without research. The continuous development of technology uplifts the
level of human being. There is a direct impact of research in the development of one’s
nation. The First World Countries had realized the role of research not only in the
economic aspect but also for the maintainance of power. Unfortunately, research can be
both beneficial and harmful. The invention of nuclear bomb and other sophisticated
gadgets are products of continuous research.

In business, research is used as a strategy to sustain the business world. The continuous
renovation of ideas contribute to sustainability of business since human needs are
changing. In order to cope with the changing needs of the customers, research is
repeatedly conducted.

In agriculture, research lays the foundation of production. The agricultural companies

control the agricultural market because it is the product of their research. Thailand has
once send their students to the Philippines to learn the technology of rice production.
Today, our country is importing rice from Thailand because they have improved their
technology.
