2nd Summer Training School on

Planetary Sciences & Exploration

Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad
01 May – 30 June, 2020

ISRO launched the highly successful Chandrayaan-1 mission to Moon in 2008,

Mars Orbitor Mission in 2013 and Chandrayan-2 in 2019. Missions to Venus
and Mars and other planetary bodies are being planned. Scientific
experiments (payloads) are being developed for flying on board these missions
for studying sub-surface, surface, atmospheric, and interplanetary
processes.

For effective utilization of the data from these planetary missions and
modeling of the processes, we are organizing the 2nd Summer Training School
to introduce the participants to techniques of planetary science data
retrieval, analysis, its modeling and instrument development for planetary
missions. Following topics would be covered in this school:

1. Planetary Atmospheres Modeling & Simulation

2. Design and Development of Instruments for
Planetary Missions
3. Remote Sensing Analysis of Planetary Bodies

Ph.D students, PDFs, young teachers and M. Sc. final year students (Physics/
Geology/ Geophysics/ Space Science/ Earth & Planetary Science/Atmospheric
Science and allied fields), may apply online by uploading their CV and one page
statement of purpose. Selected participants will be provided II AC train fare,
