In our modernized world today, teenagers are using internet and social Medias more

than ever, they consider internet and social medias as positive aspects of our society,
perhaps a friend who can be with them whenever they want to. It definitely plays an
enormous and crucial role in our daily activities since it is the biggest system of
communication. Little did we know that these same technologies are also often used
negatively. Some young people are using it in a wrong and dangerous way.

the internet holds many dangers in a child’s life, it is somewhat a great help to
them and at the same time a dangerous cliff they might fell unto.

cyberbullying is the act of harassing someone through the internet, or social

medias, it is done by sending any mean messages through emails or social networking
sites, sending or posting embarrassing pictures and edited videos or even faking
someone else’s profile.

hundreds or thousands of issues about security arise over the internet each day,
especially among teenagers and children. Social networking sites like facebook and
twitter have become a hub of cyberbullying.

When we say cyberbullying, it is not just a lame problem, but also a kind of crime. Many
of our human rights are being violated by this. First is the Article 1 or The Right to
Equality, it states there that we are born free and are all equal in dignity and rights.
Another one is the article 2 – or the Freedom from discrimination, meaning no one
should be discriminated by their color, sex, language, religion, or any other opinions.
Article 3 or right to security says that everyone has the right to live a liberated and
secured life. Other than those, there are still many other rights that are violated by
cyberbullying.

Cyberbullying results to a long term psychological impact on the minds of ones

been bullied. It results to a damage of personality. It makes them feel hopeless, pitiful,
and even develop a sense of revenge and crude negativity in their personality and would
totally change the way they see themselves as part of the world. Cyberbullying also
forces the bullied to attempt or even commit suicide.

Camarines sur representative Rolando Andaya authored the bill entitled “an act
of defining and penalizing the crime of cyber-bullying” otherwise known as “anti-cyber-
bullying act of 2015.” With the hope of encouraging people to become responsible
netizens and making them accountable for their “cyber actions “(Cherry).

And in the republic act no. 10627 known as anti-bullying act or an act requiring
all elementary and secondary schools to adopt policies to prevent and address the acts
of bullying in their institutions. (Cherry).

There are many ways on how to prevent cyber-bullying. As a parent, you should
know the sites your kids visit and their online activities. Give them enough attention,
care, and love. Monitor their social activities online but not to the point that they will
feel unsafe. Show them that you could be a parent, and at the same time a friend that’s
always in their side. In that way, they would feel the love they are longing and would
not pester other people just to find attention. As a student, you need to be careful on
the things you do in social networking sites, you should always remember that think
before you click, you need to be accountable to your own acts.

Hindi ko alam kung saan ko to isisingit parang di kasi tugma. Lol

Technologies are now ruling the world and we, millennials are born to use them.
But still life is a series of fortunes and misfortunes. And I don’t think you would like to
become a misfortune to someone who is struggling to live a normal and happy life.
Cyberbullying is petrifying but did you know it’s everyone’s fault? There are reasons why
a person does bullying. There are lots of people who see an act of bullying and didn’t
even try to help because they are scared that they may also suffer the same way. I
wonder who is the real suspect, the one who cyberbullies or the ones laughing and
judging the bullied?

Perhaps, all you can do is care, but caring is useless if you don’t show it. A
person been bullied needs care, a person who bullies needs care. But you are there in
front of your screen pretending to be invisible, trying not to intrude. Netizens, we can
do something, and we have to act right now before it becomes too late. As the saying
says. “Regrets are always at the end”.
