I/O Device and I/O Controller at the same time

Migration module must be used as data access point for R-30iA as I/O Device.

In R-30iA setup screen for PN-IO device : for firmware V2.3.1, enter 0 to “Slot”, 1 to “Subslot”, 13 to “Module ID”, 65537 to
“SubslotID” to define the following module (13 = 0xD, 65535 = 0x10001).
Data access point (Migration) Slot = 0 Subslot = 1
Module ID = 0x0D, subslot ID = 0x10001
Then, setup the next slots as per wishes (IN, OUT, IN-OUT)(1byte, 4bytes, 16bytes). Use Module-ID & Submodule-ID as found
in GSDML. Keep in mind : if, in GSDML you take “IN”, on device you will see “OUT” (and vice-versa).

See picture for setup in NCM V5.4 SP1 :

plc(station) = CP1616, as controller for 1x ET200S & 1x CP1616 (=”r30ia’)
r30ia = CP1616, as controller for 1x ET200S & as device for “plc(station)”
No “IO device coupling” check-box (as described by FANUC, for STEP7) is found / necessary in NCM !!??
Save and Compile.
Download to controller – here : to “plc(station)”.
If “installing” FANUC
GSDML within NCM, its
Add CP1616 as I/O Controller to network; change its name (here : “r-30ia”). data gets included into the
“additional Field Devices”
Select PROFINET tab, and check “Enable IO device mode”, and press OK section. But NO migration
modules are available !!??
Add CP1616 as IO Device / by
double clicking “PROFINET I/O-
>I/O->SIMATIC PC-CP CP1616-
>6GK1 161-6AA00 (Migration)”.

Change device name (here “r30ia”. It

must be the same to the name of
CP1616 on controller station. Click OK
for warning message (about same
name and physical location)

Remove check on “Assign IP

address via IO controller

Now - at startup, “mismatch” error is posted by R-30iA, for device, slot 0 (the DAP).
Because : NCM downloaded V2.1 ID’s; but we had to set initially V2.3 ID’s [i.e.:13 = 0xD to “Module ID”][65537 = 0x10001
to “SubslotID”], in R-30iA device setup screen, in order to have the R-30iA internal database operational.

Set now manually (in slot 0 / subslot 1) the V2.1 ID’s (i.e.: module-ID = 0x5, submodule-ID = 0x1) – and system works.
