Additional Notes:
- There were no official resolutions crafted by the Department of Agriculture IV-
CALABARZON with regards to the activities by the Bantay Presyo Task Force. Although a
price freeze directive was sent to Local Chief Executives to be used as basis for price
related concerns.
- Due to the absence of an adjudication officer and an enforcement unit, the department
cannot directly apprehend proven violators of overpricing. An alternative would be letting
the respective LGUs issue notices of violations as long as it is in their jurisdiction.
- Although there are a number of complaints received during the quarantine, price
monitoring reports from different public markets in the region recorded prices that are just
within the range of the price freeze directive. With this we can say that some of the
complaints are isolated cases wherein price manipulation were being done by a few
vendors to benefit from the pandemic situation.
- Other activities done by the department with regards to price stabilization was the
continuous monitoring of palay prices in the region and the issuance of food pass for the
duration of the ECQ, this aid in the assurance of food supply throughout the region.
