Case 1:

When there is a quiz, the payout will be equal to 0.6x – 0.25 y

Case 2:

When there is no quiz, the payout will be equal to 0.75y – 0.4x

In order to maximize payout, we must allocate optimal amount of money to Sue’s betting scheme
and Adam’s betting scheme.

We know that x + y cannot exceed $200 as that is all the money we have.

So, x+y <= 200

To maximize payout when there is a quiz, we will use solver to find allocation ratio. By changing loss
and investment amount constraints, we will get different values of payouts.

Objective: 0.6x – 0.25 y

Constraints: x + y <= 200 and x>=0 and y>=0
