Assignment 1
Submission date: 10.3.2020
Question 1: Write the differences between vacuum tube & transistor.\
As:A vacuum tube is an electron tube in which there is only a small amount or no gas and the
electron moves without force.
The transistor is a solid state, a digital switch,Does not change physical form during
conversion.
Compared to the vacuum tube, transistors were much smaller, faster and cheaper to manufacture.
They were also far more reliable and used much less power.

Question 2: What are the different types of memory devices? Write the differences
between RAM & ROM
1. FOUR:SRAM: Static Random Access Memory
DRAM:Dynamic Random Access Memory
ROM: Read Only Memory
EEPROM:Electrically Erasable Programmable ROM
2. Different:ROM and RAM
ROM: Permanently,not erased
ROM&EPROM
ROM is the memory that comes with your computer that is pre-written to hold the
instructions for booting up the computer
RAM: Data in ram is not permanently written when power off, data deleted
DRAM&SRAM
RAM is the memory available for the operating system programs and process to use
when the computer is running
Question 3: Explain transducer, signal conditioner & op-amp.
1. Transducer, refers to the electrical energy and sound energy conversion devices.
2. Signal conditioner is for signal conditioning devices between the signal source and the
readout device
3. Operational amplifier is an electronic integrated circuit containing multi-stage amplifier
circuit. Its input stage is differential amplifier circuit, which has high input resistance and
suppression of zero drift ability; the middle stage mainly carries on voltage amplification, has
high voltage amplification multiple, generally consists of common emitter amplifier circuit; the
output pole is connected to the load and has the characteristics of strong load capacity and low
output resistance

Question 4: Explain second order low pass filter with block diagram.

Question 5: Draw the block diagram of flash ADC & sigma delta converter.
1. Flash ADC
2. Sigma delta converter
