 Mass media is a medium to communicate to a


large audience by different forms of
technology.

 Some different types of Mass media are-

 The oldest and most reliable source of
communication.
 Used to address mass public.
 Divided into Gen. Print media, Specific Print
media.
 General Print media- Newspaper
 Specific Print media- Magazines, Books
 Useful to communicate with a large audience.
 Cost Effective
 Can be published the fastest. Example- News
paper are published on daily basis.
 Makes It easier for the user to understand.
 Specific and to the point.
 Articles, magazines can be used to convey
long pieces of information.
 Radios can be used for entertainment,
advertising, spreading awareness, etc.
 They are the oldest form of electronic mass
media.
 Cost effective
 Can be used as a car radio, mobile radio. etc.
 The only forms of mass media based only on
sounds, verbal form of communication.
 A person can listen to radio while driving,
doing any other work. Unlike reading a

work is not possible.
