Example : Pipe Sizing
Determine the sizes of piping required for the two –stage LP-Gas installation
shown :

13
• Total 1st stage piping length=26 feet, 1st stage regulator setting is
10 psi (700mbar),(use table No.1 @ 30ft), From aa to a, the
demand is =338 BTU/Hr., use ½” pipe.
• The 2nd stage piping length = 58 feet ,(use table No.3 @ 60ft):
From a to b, the demand is =338 BTU/Hr., use 1” pipe.
From b to c, the demand is =138 BTU/Hr., use 3/4” or 7/8” pipe.
From c to d, the demand is =100 BTU/Hr., use 3/4” pipe.
From d to e, the demand is =35 BTU/Hr., use 1/2” pipe.
From b to f, the demand is =200 BTU/Hr., use 3/4” or 7/8” pipe.
From c to g, the demand is =38 BTU/Hr., use 1/2”.
From d to h, the demand is =65 BTU/Hr, use 1/2” or 5/8” pipe.
