Corona Virus a Pandemic: Case Study of Pakistan

It was the early December 2019, when the first case at the world health organization had reported

in the country office of China. The Chinese authorities identified this as a novel coronavirus.

And now according to WHO (world health organization), the world has 4.8+ confirmed cases

across the globe to date. World Health Organization announced COVID-19 as a pandemic after

which health emergency was declared. At least 188 countries are now contained with the novel

coronavirus. Scientists of different countries are working day and night to prepare the vaccine

but still, yet we do not have any timeframe that when it will come out. Till that time world health

organization initiated thousands of campaigns and awareness programs to let the people know

about the facts and preventions against this novel virus. Those counties which have the world’s

best health care systems collapsed due to the increasingly deadly situation. third world countries

like Pakistan who have still lacked in the basic health care system are facing challenges not

because of an increasing situation but because of the downfall of the economy due to the

preemptive measures of lockdown. Pakistan till the date has 43 thousand plus cases and nearly

939 confirmed deaths. To contain the local transmission government of Pakistan also decided to

lockdown the state and shut the country. Primarily it effected well as the virus contained to some

extend. But this economic lockdown is not as easy as the develop one. More than 40 percent of

people are living the cities and rely on their earnings to full fill the needs. The country lacked

social service that is why the economic shut down was not possible anymore.
