Statement of purpose

During my under graduation, I nurtured an idea of shaping my career in the path

of doing research. Taking a multi-disciplinary undergraduate major has helped
me realize that computer science and logic are the areas which enthrall me the
most when compared to others. By the end of sixth semester, I am crystal clear
and confident in setting my priorities. Research at the PhD level would be the
best bet to satisfy my long term goals. I opine that completing Masters and
doing research would equip me with the required proficiency in computer science
and would set a perfect platform for my entry into PhD. Thus, after a careful
consideration of my interests, abilities and goals, I decided to pursue my
Master’s degree in the field of Computer Science.

I worked hard to get admission into the highly competitive Electronics and
Communication Engineering field. My determination got me into Royal Institute
of Technology and Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering
stream. Interests and potential really shaped me considerably. All these subjects
provided me with a strong footing in the theoretical concepts of Electronics and
Communication Engineering. 

I have developed an interest in the areas of Computer Networks &

Communications and Embedded & Real-time systems. I tried to gain more
knowledge in these fields and I presented some papers on BLAST Technology,
3G Technology and Embedded Systems etc. To be able to face the competition, I
kept myself abreast with the latest technologies by reading magazines and
attending workshops. I have done a MATLAB based project on "Implementation
of Histogram of a Digital Image Using Matlab". Graduate studies in
Communication and Computer Science designing would completely equip me to
make a mark in this field, satisfy my quest for knowledge and bring out my forte
to the fore. 

After completing my studies, I joined Knoah Solutions Pvt Ltd. I worked as a

Customer Service Executive for two years. Later, I learnt Software Testing and
got placed with H-line Soft Information Technology Pvt Ltd. I worked in a team
of three members testing the billing systems where my knowledge of software
development life cycle and databases was put to optimum use. The inter-
disciplinary nature of the work is one of the major reasons for my interest in the
fields of Database, Software development models, Requirement Engineering,
Design patterns. The qualities of knowledge sharing, giving valuable suggestions
established my reputation as a valuable member of the H-line Soft family.
Though I have obtained a job I am of the opinion that I need much more
enhanced knowledge.
I look forward to joining University of Houston as a graduate student at your
esteemed department.
