Description

Sugary Brown is a top-down raglan


sweater worked in the round, with waist
shaping and a simple cable pattern on
the front side and on the right sleeve. It is
a relatively easy project for sweater
novices.

Materials

- approx. 800 (900, 950, 970, 1000, 1100)m


or 880 (990, 1040, 1060, 1100, 1205) yards
of DK weight yarn, such as:
Wollmeise Merino DK, Elsebeth Lavold
Silky Wool or Ice Yarns Master Alpaca
- scrap yarn

Needles and notions

- US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needles (dpns


for sleeves are optional)
- US 4 / 3.5 mm cable needle (or size
needed to obtain the correct gauge)
- US 4 / 3.5 mm crochet hook (for
provisional cast on)
- 1 tapestry needle
- 8 stitch markers

RLC Right leaning cable: slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold in back, knit the
next 2 sts, then knit the 2 sts from the cable needle
sl Slip stitch (as if to purl)
slm Slip marker
ssk Slip next 2 stitches to the right-hand needle as if to knit, then slip them back to
the left-hand needle and knit them together

Bind off loosely.

8. Finishing

Carefully unravel the provisional cast on


at the neckline and pick up the live
stitches. Using the i-cord bind off method,
bind off all stitches.

Gently soak the sweater in lukewarm


water and lay flat to dry.
