EXTRAORDINARY MAN.

The man-machine matter has become more and more important in the same time with the
development of the technology and changing the work outlook. Throughout the centuries, people
have refined their tools, machines, equipments and work methods, technology in one word, with the
help of which they used to work out different things and services. Some of these improvements have
had such amplitude so that they have determined major changes at the economical and social level,
as for example the stream engine, informatics technology a.s.o.

The man-machine system is an aggregate made of one or more people and one or more
physical components, as for example equipments or machines, that interact each other with a view
to achieve a common aim.

However, although the machines were created tp help and lighten the man’s work, as time
went on, that has got a serious opponent against the man. The technological era proves this to us
and we can see in all fields and branches an alarming rise of the different types of machines that in a
short time perfectly carry out what it must have been performed by man.

Let’s make a simple analyze to an example from the Food Industry. If so far many people
have needed to prepare the ingredients, mix them and pack them, now there are specialized robots
for all these operations, the number of people drastically being reduced.

The negative effect of the man-machine impact is the decreasing the numbers of jobs and
increasing the unemployment rate.

However, the technology has positive aspects, too. Thus, in the medical field, many human
lives have been saved by machines. When I say such a thing I’m thinking of those difficult operations
that need a maximum accuracy.

There are also fields where the machine is not anything else than just a tool at man’s hand.
For example, any of the translating programs cannot convey accurately the signification of a more
complicate sentence and in such a situation the man’s intervention is irreplaceable.

The examples are numberless both for the man and against him. Nevertheless, we must
make a thinking compromise and accept that between the two elements, the man and the machine,
there is an interdependence without which we cannot cope with the everyday’s realities.
