Bible Canon – 73 Books or 66 Books? So why does the Catholic Bible have 73 books, while the Protestant Bible
has only 66 books? Some Protestants believe that the Catholic Church added 7 books to the Bible at the
Council of Trent in response to Luther’s Reformation, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

The Original Catholic Canon :

In about 367 AD, St. Athanasius came up with a list of 73 books for the Bible that he believed to be divinely
inspired. This list was finally approved by Pope Damasus I in 382 AD, and was formally approved by the Church
Council of Rome in that same year.
Later Councils at Hippo (393 AD) and Carthage (397 AD) ratified this list of 73 books.
In 405 AD, Pope Innocent I wrote a letter to the Bishop of Toulouse reaffirming this canon of 73 books.
In 419 AD, the Council of Carthage reaffirmed this list, to which Pope Boniface agreed.
The Council of Trent, in 1546, reaffirmed St. Athanasius’s original list of 73 books.

The Protestant Change of the Canon : So what happened? How come the King James Bible has only 66 books?
Well, Martin Luther didn’t like 7 books of the Old Testament that disagreed with his personal view of theology,
so he threw them out of his Bible in the 16th century.

What does the Bible teach about the Trinity?"

Answer:-
The most difficult thing about the Christian concept of the Trinity is that there is no way to perfectly and
completely understand it. The Trinity is a concept that is impossible for any human being to fully understand,
let alone explain. God is infinitely greater than we are; therefore, we should not expect to be able to fully
understand Him. The Bible teaches that the Father is God, that Jesus is God, and that the Holy Spirit is God.
The Bible also teaches that there is only one God. Though we can understand some facts about the
relationship of the different Persons of the Trinity to one another, ultimately, it is incomprehensible to the
human mind. However, this does not mean the Trinity is not true or that it is not based on the teachings of the
Bible.

The Trinity is one God existing in three Persons. Understand that this is not in any way suggesting three Gods.
Keep in mind when studying this subject that the word “Trinity” is not found in Scripture. This is a term that is
used to attempt to describe the triune God—three coexistent, co-eternal Persons who are God. Of real
importance is that the concept represented by the word “Trinity” does exist in Scripture. The following is what
God’s Word says about the Trinity:

1) There is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Galatians 3:20; 1 Timothy 2:5).

2) The Trinity consists of three Persons (Genesis 1:1, 26; 3:22; 11:7; Isaiah 6:8, 48:16, 61:1; Matthew 3:16-17,
28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14). In Genesis 1:1, the Hebrew plural noun "Elohim" is used. In Genesis 1:26, 3:22,
11:7 and Isaiah 6:8, the plural pronoun for “us” is used. The word "Elohim" and the pronoun “us” are plural
forms, definitely referring in the Hebrew language to more than two. While this is not an explicit argument for
the Trinity, it does denote the aspect of plurality in God. The Hebrew word for "God," "Elohim," definitely
allows for the Trinity.
In Isaiah 48:16 and 61:1, the Son is speaking while making reference to the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Compare Isaiah 61:1 to Luke 4:14-19 to see that it is the Son speaking. Matthew 3:16-17describes the event of
Jesus’ baptism. Seen in this passage is God the Holy Spirit descending on God the Son while God the Father
proclaims His pleasure in the Son. Matthew 28:19 and 2 Corinthians 13:14 are examples of three distinct
Persons in the Trinity.

3) The members of the Trinity are distinguished one from another in various passages. In the Old Testament,
“LORD” is distinguished from “Lord” (Genesis 19:24; Hosea 1:4). The LORD has a Son (Psalm 2:7, 12; Proverbs
30:2-4). The Spirit is distinguished from the “LORD” (Numbers 27:18) and from “God” (Psalm 51:10-12). God
the Son is distinguished from God the Father (Psalm 45:6-7; Hebrews 1:8-9). In the New Testament, Jesus
speaks to the Father about sending a Helper, the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17). This shows that Jesus did not
consider Himself to be the Father or the Holy Spirit. Consider also all the other times in the Gospels where
Jesus speaks to the Father. Was He speaking to Himself? No. He spoke to another Person in the Trinity—the
Father.

4) Each member of the Trinity is God. The Father is God (John 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Peter 1:2). The Son is God
(John 1:1, 14; Romans 9:5; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 5:20). The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4; 1
Corinthians 3:16).

5) There is subordination within the Trinity. Scripture shows that the Holy Spirit is subordinate to the Father
and the Son, and the Son is subordinate to the Father. This is an internal relationship and does not deny the
deity of any Person of the Trinity. This is simply an area which our finite minds cannot understand concerning
the infinite God. Concerning the Son see Luke 22:42, John 5:36, John 20:21, and 1 John 4:14. Concerning the
Holy Spirit see John 14:16, 14:26, 15:26, 16:7, and especially John 16:13-14.

6) The individual members of the Trinity have different tasks. The Father is the ultimate source or cause of the
universe (1 Corinthians 8:6; Revelation 4:11); divine revelation (Revelation 1:1); salvation (John 3:16-17); and
Jesus’ human works (John 5:17; 14:10). The Father initiates all of these things.

The Son is the agent through whom the Father does the following works: the creation and maintenance of the
universe (1 Corinthians 8:6; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16-17); divine revelation (John 1:1, 16:12-15; Matthew
11:27; Revelation 1:1); and salvation (2 Corinthians 5:19; Matthew 1:21; John 4:42). The Father does all these
things through the Son, who functions as His agent.

The Holy Spirit is the means by whom the Father does the following works: creation and maintenance of the
universe (Genesis 1:2; Job 26:13; Psalm 104:30); divine revelation (John 16:12-15; Ephesians 3:5; 2 Peter 1:21);
salvation (John 3:6; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:2); and Jesus’ works (Isaiah 61:1; Acts 10:38). Thus, the Father does all
these things by the power of the Holy Spirit.

There have been many attempts to develop illustrations of the Trinity. However, none of the popular
illustrations are completely accurate. The egg (or apple) fails in that the shell, white, and yolk are parts of the
egg, not the egg in themselves, just as the skin, flesh, and seeds of the apple are parts of it, not the apple
itself. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not parts of God; each of them is God. The water illustration is
somewhat better, but it still fails to adequately describe the Trinity. Liquid, vapor, and ice are forms of water.
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not forms of God, each of them is God. So, while these illustrations may
give us a picture of the Trinity, the picture is not entirely accurate. An infinite God cannot be fully described by
a finite illustration.

The doctrine of the Trinity has been a divisive issue throughout the entire history of the Christian church.
While the core aspects of the Trinity are clearly presented in God’s Word, some of the side issues are not as
explicitly clear. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God—but there is only one God. That is
the biblical doctrine of the Trinity. Beyond that, the issues are, to a certain extent, debatable and non-
essential. Rather than attempting to fully define the Trinity with our finite human minds, we would be better
served by focusing on the fact of God’s greatness and His infinitely higher nature. “Oh, the depth of the riches
of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” (Romans 11:33-34). God Bless You

How can Jesus be both God and man at the same time?"
Answer:-
The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is both God and man. Many Christians are understandably confused when
it comes to understanding how Jesus can be God and man at the same time. How could our divine Creator
become a human? Could a first-century Jewish man really be God? While a certain amount of mystery will
always accompany this issue, both Scripture and, to a lesser extent, church tradition provide for us important
distinctions to help us make sense of this matter.

While previous church councils had deliberated over issues pertaining to the nature of Christ and His
relationship to the Father, it was the Council of Chalcedon (AD 451) that affirmed that Christ is “the same
perfect in divinity and perfect in humanity, the same truly God and truly man.” This statement is not true
simply because the council taught it. Rather, the council’s declaration was authoritative only insofar as it
aligned with what the Bible teaches on the subject. Scripture is clear that Jesus is God (John 20:28; Titus 2:13;
Hebrews 1:8), and it is equally clear that He is truly human (Romans 1:2–4; 1 John 4:2–3). Jesus claimed the
divine name (John 8:58) and did things that only God can do (Mark 2:1–12; Luke 7:48–50). But Jesus also
displayed the weaknesses and vulnerabilities common to humanity (Luke 19:41; John 19:28).

The belief that Jesus is both God and man is of fundamental importance. The apostle Paul wrote that an
affirmation of the divinity of Jesus is required to be saved (Romans 10:9), and the apostle John provided a
sober warning that those who deny Christ’s true humanity are promoting the doctrine of antichrist (2 John
1:7).

The Triune God of the Bible has existed and reigned from all eternity, and the second Person of the Trinity, the
Son, took on human flesh at a particular point in time (Luke 1:35; Hebrews 1:5). God the Son added a sinless
human nature to His eternally existent divine nature. The result was the Incarnation. God the Son became a
man (John 1:1, 14). Hebrews 2:17 gives the reason that Jesus had to be both God and man: “He had to be
made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in
service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.” The Son of God took on human
flesh to provide redemption to those under the law (Galatians 4:4–5).

At no time did Jesus ever cease to be God. Although He was made fully human, there was never a point when
He abrogated His divine nature (see Luke 6:5, 8). It is equally true that, after becoming incarnate, the Son has
never ceased to be human. As the apostle Paul wrote, “For there is one God, and there is one mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5, emphasis added). Jesus is not half-human and
half-divine. Rather, He is Theanthropos, the God-man. The Lord Jesus Christ is one eternally divine Person who
will forever possess two distinct yet inseparable natures: one divine and one human. God Bless You Amen!

Do Christians believe in three gods?"

Answer:-
If you’re a Muslim, you may think Christians believe in three gods. That idea is as blasphemous to Christians as
to you.
There is one God!
Christians believe in one God. In the Holy Bible, God commands, “You shall have no other gods before me”
(Exodus 20:3).
When asked for the greatest command, Jesus responded, “. . . The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall
love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your
strength” (Mark 12:29-30).
The one God exists as three Persons.
The Bible teaches that God is one in essence, three in Person: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
(Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19). Each is fully God. God is not three gods but three in one. Although we cannot
completely grasp the tri-unity of God, we must trust His revelation is true.
Is Jesus God’s Son?
The same Jesus who affirmed God’s oneness also said, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). Jesus’ perfect
life, miracles, death, and resurrection proved He was God’s Son in the flesh. We cannot both praise Jesus’
teaching and refute His deity because He claimed to be from and of God (John 1:1-2; 5:18-24). Jesus is either
God’s Son or a blasphemer.
The religious leaders of Jesus’ time refused to believe He was the Son of God and so desired to kill Him for
blasphemy. “. . . Again the high priest asked him, ‘Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?’ And Jesus said, ‘I
am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of
heaven.’ And the high priest tore his garments and said, ‘What further witnesses do we need? You have heard
his blasphemy. What is your decision?’ And they all condemned him as deserving death” (Mark 14:61-64).

What is your decision?

Your beliefs cannot change the truth. Is Jesus the Son of God? If not, He did deserve death for blasphemy, and
His bones would be resting in a tomb. But the resurrection proved Jesus divine.
Being God’s Son, why did Jesus die? Death is the punishment for sinners (Romans 6:23). Jesus kept every
commandment—even the greatest command to love God.
Have you? Unlike Jesus, not one of us loves God supremely. Even breaking a small command (such as lying,
hating, or coveting) disqualifies us from heaven: “For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in
one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10). We deserve death—eternal separation from God in hell.
But take heart. The Lord Jesus took the punishment for sin when He died on the cross. “[God] made [Jesus]
who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2
Corinthians 5:21). After dying on the cross, Jesus rose from the dead, showing God’s approval of His sacrifice
for sin.
The living Lord Jesus can pay for your sin, providing the way to paradise. When Jesus was promising to prepare
a place in heaven for His followers, one asked Him for the way to heaven. “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way,
and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me’” (John 14:6).
You cannot come to the Father on your own because you are a sinner, unable to fix yourself. Trust in Jesus as
your Savior from the penalty and power of sin. Turn from your sin and your own way to follow Jesus as the
Lord of your life. He is the way, truth, and life! God Bless You Amen!

Is Jesus God in the flesh? Why is it important that Jesus is God in the flesh?"
Answer:-
Since Jesus’ conception by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:26-38), the real identity of
Jesus Christ has always been questioned by skeptics. It began with Mary’s fiancé, Joseph, who was afraid to
marry her when she revealed that she was pregnant (Matthew 1:18-24). He took her as his wife only after the
angel confirmed to him that the child she carried was the Son of God.
Hundreds of years before the birth of Christ, the prophet Isaiah foretold the coming of God’s Son: "For to us a
child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful
Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6). When the angel spoke to Joseph and
announced the impending birth of Jesus, he alluded to Isaiah’s prophecy: "The virgin will conceive and give
birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel(which means ‘God with us’)" (Matthew 1:23). This did not
mean they were to name the baby Immanuel; it meant that "God with us" was the baby’s identity. Jesus was
God coming in the flesh to dwell with man.
Jesus Himself understood the speculation about His identity. He asked His disciples, "Who do people say that I
am?" (Matthew 16:13; Mark 8:27). The answers varied, as they do today. Then Jesus asked a more pressing
question: "Who do you say that I am?" (Matthew 16:15). Peter gave the right answer: "You are the Christ, the
Son of the living God" (Matthew 16:16). Jesus affirmed the truth of Peter’s answer and promised that, upon
that truth, He would build His church (Matthew 16:18).
The true nature and identity of Jesus Christ has eternal significance. Every person must answer the question
Jesus asked His disciples: "Who do you say that I am?"
He gave us the correct answer in many ways. In John 14:9-10, Jesus said, "Anyone who has seen me has seen
the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the
Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in
me, who is doing his work."
The Bible is clear about the divine nature of the Lord Jesus Christ (see John 1:1-14). Philippians 2:6-7 says that,
although Jesus was "in very nature God, He did not consider equality with God something to be used to his
own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human
likeness." Colossians 2:9 says, “In Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.”
Jesus is fully God and fully man, and the fact of His incarnation is of utmost importance. He lived a human life
but did not possess a sin nature as we do. He was tempted but never sinned (Hebrews 2:14-18; 4:15). Sin
entered the world through Adam, and Adam’s sinful nature has been transferred to every baby born into the
world (Romans 5:12)—except for Jesus. Because Jesus did not have a human father, He did not inherit a sin
nature. He possessed the divine nature from His Heavenly Father.
Jesus had to meet all the requirements of a holy God before He could be an acceptable sacrifice for our sin
(John 8:29; Hebrews 9:14). He had to fulfill over three hundred prophecies about the Messiah that God,
through the prophets, had foretold (Matthew 4:13-14; Luke 22:37; Isaiah 53; Micah 5:2).

Since the fall of man (Genesis 3:21-23), the only way to be made right with God has been the blood of an
innocent sacrifice (Leviticus 9:2; Numbers 28:19; Deuteronomy 15:21; Hebrews 9:22). Jesus was the final,
perfect sacrifice that satisfied forever God’s wrath against sin (Hebrews 10:14). His divine nature made Him fit
for the work of Redeemer; His human body allowed Him to shed the blood necessary to redeem. No human
being with a sin nature could pay such a debt. No one else could meet the requirements to become the
sacrifice for the sins of the whole world (Matthew 26:28; 1 John 2:2). If Jesus were merely a good man as some
claim, then He had a sin nature and was not perfect. In that case, His death and resurrection would have no
power to save anyone.
Because Jesus was God in the flesh, He alone could pay the debt we owed to God. His victory over death and
the grave won the victory for everyone who puts their trust in Him (John 1:12; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 17). God

Dear conscientious Muslims,

Please question yourselves. Isn’t this compulsive following of a man who lived 1400 years ago leading us to
doom in a changing world? Do the followers of any other religion follow one man in such an all-encompassing
way? Who are we deceiving, them or ourselves? Dear brothers and sisters, see how our Umma (people) has
sunk into poverty and how it lags behind the rest of the world. Isn’t it because we are following a religion that
is outdated and impractical? In this crucial moment of history, when a great catastrophe has befallen us and a
much bigger one is lying ahead, should not we wake up from our 1400 years of slumber and see where things
have gone wrong?
Hatred has filled the air and the world is bracing itself for its doomsday. Should we not ask ourselves whether
we have contributed, wittingly or unwittingly, to this tragedy and whether we can stop the great disaster from
happening?
Unfortunately, the answer to the first question is yes.
Yes we have contributed to the rise of fundamentalism by merely claiming Islam is a religion of peace, by
simply being a Muslim and by saying our shahada (testimony that Allah is the only God and Muhammad is his
messenger). By our shahada we have recognized Muhammad as a true messenger of God and his book as the
words of God. But as you saw above those words are anything but from God. They call for killing, they are
prescriptions for hate and they foment intolerance. And when the ignorant among us read those hate-laden
verses, they act on them and the result is the infamous September 11, human bombs in Israel, massacres in
East Timor and Bangladesh, kidnappings and killings in the Philippines, slavery in the Sudan, honour killings in
Pakistan and Jordan, torture in Iran, stoning and maiming in Afghanistan and Iran, violence in Algeria,
terrorism in Palestine and misery and death in every Islamic country.
We are responsible because we endorse Islam and hail it as a religion of God. And we are as guilty as those
who put into practice what the Qur’an preaches – and ironically we are the main victims too. If we are not
terrorists, if we love peace, if we cried with the rest of the word for what happened in New York, then why are
we supporting the Qur’an that preaches killing, that advocates holy war, that calls for the murder of non-
Muslims? It is not the extremists who have misunderstood Islam. They do literally what the Qur’an asks them
to do. It is we who misunderstand Islam. We are the ones who are confused. We are the ones who wrongly
assume that Islam is the religion of peace. Islam is Not a religion of peace. In its so-called “pure” form it can
very well be interpreted as a doctrine of hate. Terrorists are doing just that and we the intellectual apologists
of Islam are justifying it. We can stop this madness. Yes, we can avert the disaster that is hovering over our
heads. Yes, we can denounce the doctrines that promote hate. Yes, we can embrace the rest of humanity with
love. Yes, we can become part of a united world, members of one human family, flowers of one garden. We
can dump the claim of infallibility of our Book, and the questionable legacy of our Prophet.
Dear friends, there is no time to waste. Let us put an end to this lie. Let us not fool ourselves. Islam is not a
religion of peace, of tolerance, of equality or of unity of humankind. Let us read the Qur’an. Let us face the
truth even if it is painful. As long as we keep this lie alive, as long as we hide our head in the sands of Arabia
we are feeding terrorism. As long as you and I keep calling Qur’an the unchangeable book of God, we cannot
blame those who follow the teachings therein. As long as we pay our Khums and Zakat our money goes to
promote Islamic expansionism and that means terrorism, Jihad and war. Islam divides the world in two. Darul
Harb (land of war) and Darul Islam (land of Islam).
Darul Harb is the land of the infidels, Muslims are required to infiltrate those lands, proselytise and procreate
until their numbers increase and then start the war and fight and kill the people and impose the religion of
Islam on them and convert that land into Darul Islam. In all fairness we denounce this betrayal. This is abuse of
the trust. How can we make war in the countries that have sheltered us? How can we kill those who have
befriended us? Yet willingly or unwillingly we have become pawns in this Islamic Imperialism. Let us see what
great Islamic scholars have had to say in this respect.
