Major Weather System over the Region

The Eastern parts of the axis of monsoon trough at mean seal level now   passes  through 
Ambikapur, Jharsuguda,  Puri and thence East­southeastwards to East Central Bay of 
Bengal extending up to 0.9 km above mean sea level. The  cyclonic circulation over North 
Odisha and neighbourhood now lies over Chhatisgarh and adjoining Odisha  extending  
upto 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height. The cyclonic 
circulation  over East Uttar pradesh and neighbouhood  now lies over South Uttar Pradesh 
and neighbourhood extending upto 2.1 km above mean sea level. A low pressure area is very 
likely to form over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around 13th July and become 
more marked subsequently. 

Weather Warning for West­Bengal During Next Five Days :­

Monday 09 July(DAY1)  :  Heavy   rain (07­11) cm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over 

Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar, Alipurduar, Kalimpong districts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal.
