PEANUT CALENDAR OF EVENTS – JULY – 2020


JULY 7 – 8: WORLD PEANUT MEETING - Organized by the Argentine Peanut Chamber (CAM), on July 7 and 8, the WORLDWIDE
SUPPLY and DEMAND for PEANUTS will meet online in an unprecedented event. These are two days during which it will be dealt with
the dynamics of the INTERNATIONAL SUPPLY AND DEMAND in this uncertain and changing context. The conferences will be
transmitted simultaneously in English and Spanish, being able to choose the preferred audio channel. Registrations, sponsorship

JULY 14-16, 2020– American Peanut Research and Educational Society 52nd Annual Meeting - Due to the pandemic, the 52nd Annual
Meeting will be a virtual format. The 2020 APRES Virtual Annual Meeting live webinar will kick off July 14th with greetings from
the Texas Ag Commissioner and the Texas A&M University Dean of Agriculture & Life Sciences followed by a General Session
on Production, Challenges & Strategies. After lunch, the topic shifts to Aflatoxin-Impacts and Challenges for the U.S. and Beyond.
On July 15th and 16th, you can hear what our future peanut leaders are working on with the live webinar Joe Sugg Graduate
Student Oral Presentation Competition. The other 90+ presentations will be pre-recorded narrated PowerPoint presentations covering
every peanut topic from breeding to nutrition. Abstracts are available online now to give you an idea of what to expect beginning July
14th when the full 15-minute video presentations will be available to APRES members only. Registration for the event is $50 and
membership in the Society is $100 for an all-in commitment of $150.
Every presentation (118) will be recorded and posted to the APRES website (including the live presentations afterwards) for this
APRES members-only event. It is a wonderful opportunity to increase personal knowledge or use as a training tool for your staff.

JULY 15-16, 2020 - The National Peanut Board Annual Meeting - The National Peanut Board will set strategic direction for the FY-21
program of work and budget at its quarterly board meeting July 15-16, 2020. Due to issues surrounding the pandemic, the National Peanut
Board has made the decision to hold the session in a virtual format only. General Session attendance is open to the public. You must
register at https://survey.zohopublic.com/zs/FUChFE in order to attend the meeting.
The Board begins the planning process each year by assessing consumer attitudes and market conditions and setting the program
of work to align with strategic objectives to advance its mission of improving the economic condition of USA peanut farmers and their
families through compelling promotion and groundbreaking research. The meeting schedule is as follows:

JULY 16-18, 2020 – The 2020 Southern Peanut Growers
Conference has been postponed until July 15-17, 2021. All rooms
will be released by Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort. If you wish
to keep your room reservation, you have 24 hours to call in and
re-secure your room. The conference room rate will be honored
for all rooms. Call Crystal at 850-235-4951. Conference
registrations will be refunded. Plan to join us in July 2021.
JULY 23, 2020 - Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition Field Day,
Spence Field, Moultrie, GA. Driving Tour of the Darrell Williams
Research Farm. Never leave the comfort of your own vehicle as
you learn about the latest research conducted by university
researchers and industry reps. Arrive on the grounds using GATE
2 between 8 AM and 9 AM to begin the tour. Stop at the red tent
for a Welcome Bag including snacks, register for CCA Credits and
Begin the Tour. Drive thru the tour path while viewing pre-
recorded segments. Bring a smart phone or tablet to view the
research videos.
