• 14 CFR 91.225 and 91.227 drive the requirement for DO-260B compliant ADS-B Out.
• Specifically 91.227(d)(8) drives the requirement for the transmission of Flight ID.
• AC 20-165B provides the installation guidance which our STCs used.
• ADS-B Out should be installed under an STC
Supports aircraft re-sale
Supports worldwide regulatory agency acceptance
• There is no Requirement for Enhanced Surveillance for ADS-B Out
• No Need for FMS updates
Except the UNS FMS has an integrated GPS so you must get to the 1(x)W version
• No Impact to RVSM, Substantiation Report Included in our STC Packages.
Quoting and Planning for CMD STCs
• Which Transponders are installed?
• Which GPS’s (or UNS FMS/GPS) are installed and are they WAAS
compliant and on our AML?
• Is the aircraft currently equipped to provide Flight ID to the
Transponders?
Does the operator file Flight Plans under tail number or other fixed value, i.e. can
the Flight ID remain static, like the Mode S code, until the registry/tail number
changes? AFID is good option if yes.
• If MST-67A or standalone RCZ-852, consider installing TDR-94/94D
under DER supported field approval, then apply our ADS-B Out STC.
“Barb’s TDR-94/94D Basic Requirements”
• The TDR-94/94D's need to be upgraded to 622-9352-501 or 622-9210-501 respectively, via available Service Bulletins.
• Determine which WAAS GPS will be interfaced to the TDRs, lots of options here:
GPS-4000S
UNS-1(x)W – SCN 1000.7/1100.7 or later or 1001.x/1101.x or later – also can provide Flight ID
Honeywell GNSSU HG2021D07 – DO3 through D06 are upgradable and compatible
FFS 1203C
Note that CMD STCs assume the GPS is already installed and approved
• The aircraft must be capable of providing Flight ID. Consider CMD’s new ADS-B Flight ID adapter (AFID) if filing flight
plans under Tail Number or a static number.
• The ATC Controller(s) can provide Flight ID if appropriate part number installed or consider CMD’s new AFID.
• In Pro Line IV & 21 systems, the IOCs along with the RTU or CDU provide Flight ID. Installed part numbers should
be evaluated or consider CMD’s new AFID.
• Enhanced Surveillance (EHS) is not required for ADS-B Out.
• In US Airspace, EHS is not required.
• If EHS is desired, CMD’s STC provides for this as an option
• The Installer must provide a single ADS-B Fail annunciator in the cockpit, either in the existing annunciator panel, or
individual cube.
TDR-94/94D STC Includes:
• Covers TDR-94/94D's with one of 4 GPS sources:
• UNS-1(x)W FMS (SCN 1000.7/1100.7 or 1001.x/1101.x later)
• Rockwell Collins GPS-4000S (AML STC ST01433WI-D) or Stand Alone
• Honeywell HG2021GD07 GNSSU
• FreeFlight 1203C
• STC includes the FAA Approved Flight Manual Supplement, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness,
Installation Instructions, Strapping Document, Ground Test and Digital Discrete Adapter (DDA) or
AFID that drives external ADS-B Out fail annunciator.
• STC approves the installation of the upgraded TDR-94/94D's (622-9352-501 or 622-9210-501), our
DDA/AFID, wiring and installation of the annunciator.
• STC covers the GPS pairing and wiring interface only.

Installation Basics
• Install -501 TDR-94/94D’s and strap for ADS-B Out
• Interface WAAS GPS to each Transponder
• Install or update installed GPS source, as required
• Note: In general, no FMS update is ever required
• Install DDA or AFID and interface to Transponders
• Install single ADS-B Fail annunciator, in cockpit in view of both pilots, and wire to DDA/AFID
• Separate Annunciator (Luma Tech, Vivisun, Eaton, API, etc.)
• Use existing spare CAS panel cell and use Luma Tech Lens (95-1020-008): ADS-B FAIL
• Conduct STC Ground Test
• Place AFMS in Aircraft Flight Manual
• Complete paperwork, Log Book entry, etc.
• Return the Aircraft to Service
