Shaken @ The Place
Jingle Bell Walk

On Saturday December
11th, “The Place” had the
opportunity to be a part of
the Jingle Bell Walk at
Ritter Park in Huntington,
West Virginia.
This walk was a way to raise
money for the Huntington
City Mission, all the money
each person raised went
straight to the mission. It
was so amazing to see all the
people who came out to
make a difference.
As a youth group we raised
$747, which turned out to be
the largest donation by a
group. Since we raised the
most money we were given
free direct TV for a year!
To top all of this off one of
our very own teenagers at
Shake the Planet!
On December 1, Jeff Bragg
challenged “The Place” to
donate money for Shake the
Planet. He asked for
around 34 dollars, but “Those teenagers from The Place @ FBC
Glenn challenged us to hit
one hundred.
I asked Jeff a few questions
about Shake the Planet.
What is Shake the Planet? “It
is a ministry outreach program
to help change the world.

Music Review

Chris Tomlin’s new CD “And If Our God Is For Us..” is full of great songs. But the
song that stood out to me is the very first song on the CD, “Our God.” This song sums
up what God is truly like. God is strong and greater than all others. If you are looking
for a song that makes you move, this is your song, good beat, strong vocals, and mean-
ingful lyrics.
Chris Tomlin has had 9 number one radio singles, 3 GRAMMY nominations, 16 Dove
awards, a platinum and 2 gold records. He is an amazing artist and I urge you to go out
and buy this or download it on iTunes...you won’t be disappointed!!!

Fairland Dragons 7th Grade Basketball 2010-2011

The 2010-2011 7th grade basketball
team is good! “We started out the sea-
son with low expectations but high spir-
its” said Hayden James. The 7th grade
came out hard against Huntington St.
Joe with a 32-16 win! On December 6th
the 7th grade Dragons played the Bisons
of Buffalo for one half and fought hard
both quarters. Kobe Woodall & Conner
Flynn scored along with a couple others,
but the biggest boost came from Jaden
Burd. Jaden had a great game with 1
foul shot and a LONG three pointer to
get the bench pumped! All the Dragons
did good but they fell a little short with
the score of Buffalo 18 and the Dragons
12.
Our team focuses on one game at a time,
the way it should be because we under-
stand the fact that you have to play one
game at a time.
