Instructional Planning

(The process of systematically planning, developing, evaluating and managing the instructional process
by using principles of teaching and learning - D.O. 42, s. 2016)

Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) Format

Learning Area:
DLP No.: Grade Level: Quarter: Duration: Date:
TLE 9 120 January 23, 2020
Learning Competency/ies: Code:
Apply suitable wiring method for the job
(Taken from the Curriculum Guide) TLE_IAEL9EL-IIaIVj-2

Electrical wiring needs expertise attention to every building projects. It directly related to the safety of human beings and
utilities / equipment people handle. The scope of electrical wiring shall cover supply, installation, testing and commissioning
Key Concepts / Understandings
to be Developed of all conduits and accessories, wiring, switches, socket outlets, spur outlets, junction boxes / pull boxes, GI pull wires,
ceiling roses making connections etc. Unless otherwise indicated wiring shall consist of PVC insulated, copper conductor
wires installed in heavy gauge steel galvanized conduits.

Adapted Cognitive Process

Domain Dimensions (D.O. No. 8, s. 2015)
OBJECTIVES:

Knowledge Remembering
The fact or
condition of knowing
something with familiarity
gained through experience
or association Understanding understand the different wiring method;

Applying
Skills
The
ability and capacity acquired
through deliberate, Analyzing discuss its functions and uses in electrical installation and maintenance;
systematic, and sustained
effort to smoothly and
adaptively carryout complex
activities or the ability, coming
from one's knowledge, Evaluating
practice, aptitude, etc., to do
something

Creating

Attitude Responding to Phenomena demonstrate standard and appropraite electrical wiring method;

Values Valuing promote orderliness.

2. Content Different types of wiring methods approved in the Philippine condition.

3. Learning Resources Curriculum guide

4.1 Introductory Activity Let the students review the previous topic about selecting appropriate electrical tools, equipment and materials for specific
0 minutes tasks.
4.2 Activity
Try to define the following wiring method. Your
free to access in google site.
1. Open wiring
on insulator
0 minutes 2.
Concealed wiring installation
3. Non-metallic sheathed cable

4.3 Analysis 4. Flexible conduit (metal & non-metal)

\What is the purpose of using suitable wiring
5. Surface racewaymethod?
(metal and

non-metal)
4.4 Abstraction
The teacher formaly introduce and discuss the topic
Open Wiring on Insulators-An exposed wiring method using cleats,
knobs, tubes, and flexible tubing for the protection and support of single insulated conductors
run in or on buildings
Concealed wiring- is properly named as concealed conduit wiring. It is very laborious to install.
The layout of this wiring is done under the plaster of the wall of the building. Conduit pipes are
buried under the plaster of wall with GI wire inside.
Non-Metallic Sheathed Cable- is a type of
covered electrical wire consisting of at least two insulated conductors and one bare conductor
used in residential wiring. Non-Flexible Metal
Conduit-GRC (galvanized rigid conduit) is galvanized steel with a wall thick enough to
accommodate threading, though it may not always be threaded. EMT (electrical metal tubing) is
thin-walled, which makes it less expensive and lighter than other metallic rigid conduit types.
Surface metal and
non-metal raceway- A raceway which consists of a surface-mounted assembly of metal backing
(providing mechanical support) and capping (providing a protective covering); used for electric
wiring for branch circuits or feeder conductors.
