    SMART BILLING SYSTEM TO ENHANCE THE SHOPPER’S

    EXPERIENCE

    Presently, a customer in a shopping centre spends superfluous time at the billing


    counter. This delay is due to the current method of using manually operated bar-code
    reader to list out all the products in sequential step. The proposed innovation is to use
    RFID tags which are nothing but stickers or inlays that will be stuck on the products
    these tags will be read by a RFID reader placed in a tunnel like structure, which has a
    read range of 10 meters which can read multiple RFID tags stuck on those products in
    a cluster and to display the price list and print out the bill immediately. So instead of
    billing the products one by one which increases the billing time and queues at the
    shopping centers, the entire basket consisting of the products gets read at the same
    time by the tunnel based billing system.
