the best achievers: individuals, villages (gramam), residence associations, wards of all LSGDs, all
kinds of educational institutions, NGOs, offices, business institutions and other establishments in
Kozhikode district.
To corporates: Grant your CSR fund to us. With your money we will supply plants, tree guard, agro-
equipment, fertilizers as prizes and awards. You can select on gramam, ward, Grama Panchayath,
municipality, Block panchayath, Corporation or Zilla Panchayath.
To sponsors: Put your advertisements in our events. This mass movement with direct participation of
20 lakhs people will give you best result.

B. Green Clean Kerala
I. Introduction- Green Clean Earth Movement
The project aims to save 1 crore tree saplings from Kerala and submit its photos to UNEP (United
Nations Environmental Program), which showing its growth in an interval of every 3 months. For that
we are conducting a plant care selfie competition through www.a2z4home.com. It aims to mobilize
public awareness towards tree-planting, water & energy conservation and agricultural developments.
It encourages people to plant trees, harvest water, clean surroundings, promotes agriculture &
gardening, etc. Through this project we aim is to make Kerala self-sufficient in green activities and
after all to undo the effects of global warming. Green Clean Kerala is a movement launched by the
GCEM Foundation as part of the Green Clean Earth Movement for the success of the Haritha
Keralam project. To achieve this, a project called Green Clean Kozhikode has been launched by
selecting the Kozhikode district as a pilot project

II. Plants care competition

On June 5th everyone takes part in tree-planting activities. Only a few of the plants are given proper
attention. Thus, a lot of manpower, investment & time goes waste for plants which do not manage to
survive. An idea to tackle this is the plant care competition. Anyone can join the competition by
taking a selfie with the plants for which they are caring and upload the image to
www.GreenCleanEarth.org. We will list all uploads on our web site. Based on a lucky draw we will
give prizes to winners. We also conduct green competitions for those who have participated in plant
care competitions.

IV. One Crore Saplings Selfies to UNEP

We aim to plant one crore saplings in Kerala, take photos of the plants with a selfie of planter and
publish on the website www.GreenCleanEarth.org, showing the growth of plants in an interval of 3
months and submitting it to UNEP (United Nation Environmental programme) . With this project
report we will submit success story of the best eco-friendly model institution to the following
categories: Village (Gramam), Grama Panchayath, Block Panchayath, Zilla Panchayath, Municipality
 and a ward of each of them, a residence association, each educational institution from all category
(from kinder garden to college level).

V. Green Clean Kozhikode-Pilot projects

We have selected Kozhikode district as pilot project and conducted a lot of events (like Green
competition) and activities there. It is in collaboration with Kozhikode District, Panchayat District
Administration, soil conservation department, Haritha Keralam Mission, Kudumbasree, NSS
(National Service scheme), SAVE (Students Army for Vivid Environment), Social forestry and
various organizations with the support of Indian Oil Corporation and some other team, for the success
of Haritha Keralam and Green Clean Kerala. The function was inaugurated by Hon'ble District
Panchayat President Shri Babu Parassery at the Nalanda Auditorium, Kozhikode on October 3, 2016.
He was subsequently elected Chairman of the Green Clean Kozhikode Committee.

VI. Self-sufficient villages

We are aiming to make each village in Kozhikode District self-sufficient in Greenery,Waste
management, Energy and Water preservation. Greenery includes Agricultural development, Tree
planting and Gardening. For that we are conducting a lot of green competitions among villagers like
plants care competition. We also wish to introduce latest technology and scientific methods in
agriculture, waste management, water preservation and energy management. We conduct public
events and campaigns for that.

VII. 10 lakh Plant Care selfies to Kerala Government

Before submitting the project report with the list of one crore saplings to UNEP, we aim to submit the
report to Kerala government with 10 lakh sapling selfies.

VIII. Prizes and awards:

We will give awards to the best achievers and prizes to winners of lucky draw and competitions, and
financial support to best achievers’ project.

a) Haritha Puraskaram – GCEM award for Greater achievements

We are going to find the best eco-friendly village (gramam), residence association, Grama
panchayath, Block panchayath, Zilla panchayath, Corporation and Municipalities, ward,
Kindergarten, L P school, U P school, High school, Higher secondary school, College, Self-
finance college and Parallel colleges, offices, business institutions and other establishments in
Kozhikode district. It will be submitted to UNEP. We give Haritha Puraskaram for the best
achievers.

b) Prizes
We will give prizes to winners. Plants, Green home, Electric vehicles, Smart class room,
Solar equipment, Gold coin, Laptop, Smartphone, Green privilege card, Green Home, solar
equipment, seeds, fertilisers, tree guard, Agro-equipment, Biodiversity park, etc. are prizes.
The value of prizes to be given will increase at the rate of total number of plants preserved
and uploaded. If total 10 lakh saplings are uploaded on our web site, we will give a Green
home for a merited family in the most uploaded LSGD ward. We will also give electric
vehicles by lucky draw. If total 1 lakh saplings are preserved and uploaded, we will give a
smart class room for the most uploaded school, waste management equipment for the most
uploaded LSGD ward and other prizes like gold coin, smart classroom, laptop, etc. by lucky
draw. If total 10,000 people upload, we will give solar street light for the groups with
maximum uploads and a smartphone by lucky draw. If total 1000 plants are uploaded, we will
give 500 saplings to groups with maximum number of uploads and prizes like free petrol card
and home appliance by lucky draw. We conduct a lot of campaigns, events and competitions
to market the project and find sponsors to give prizes and awards. Financial support will be
 given to the best viable projects and from the groups with the maximum number of uploads
from each plant category.

C. Activities- Events
I. Success Story-1056 sapling selfies from an LSGD ward
We have started a pilot project for this event in ward no. 1, Koyilandy Municipality (Pathirikkad
Gramam). From there 1056 people uploaded the images of plants for which they were caring. We
have completed this task with the support of Thalir Jaiva Kootaima, an NGO and NSS unit of SN
College Koyilandy and Kudumbashree unit of this ward. Kozhikode Kudumbashree Zilla mission
gave all support to the project. We prepared a sapling preservation report with this success story and
submitted to Kerala Chief minister and LSGD minister, Kozhikode Zilla panchayath, Kozhikode
Mayor, social forestry etc. (photos)
LOGO Launching by Chief minister: Chief Minister Pinarayi vijayan launched the logo of the project
at a function in Calicut. The chief minster appreciated the event and suggested Kozhikode Zilla
Panchayath to carry on the project as a part of Haritha Keralam Mission.
 II. Kozhikode Zilla Panchayath Green Clean Kozhikode – Haritha Valkkarana
Paddhat
Kozhikode Zilla Panchayath included the project in the budget of 2018-19 and allotted 5 lakhs rupees
to it. It is implemented through soil conservation department. Fruits & plants are distributed with the
message of www.GreenClean Earth.org, sapling nurturing competitions through schools and colleges
by collecting 20 % beneficiary contribution. We have conducted a lot of events related to this project.

III. District Administration Kozhikode

District administration of Kozhikode gives all support to our event and District Collector attends the
maximum events and gives guidance to the programs we conduct. Ente Thai was inaugurated by
former collector N Prashanth. Our mobile app was inaugurated by former Collector UV Jose. Our
ongoing joint venture with SAVE Thanal Vazhikal – Vrikshaththai Paripalana Malsaram and
Kuncikkayyal Vrikshaththai Paripalana Malsaram & Ente Thai are conducting the events in
association with District administration Kozhikode. District Collector S. Sambashiva Rau gives
guidance to our projects. We give support to all green activities of District Administration Kozhikode.
IV. Kozhikode Corporation
Kozhikode Corporation gives all support to our events. We are a partner of Sneha Palika Pookkala
Malsaram conducted by Kozhikode Corporation. We have given gold coins and other prizes to
winners of Pookkala Malsaram. We also conducted online Pookala Maylanchikkai Malsaram. We had
a joint venture with NSS volunteers AWH College Kallayi.
 V. Social Forestry
Social forestry department gives all support to our project. They distribute the notices containing the
details of plant care competition. It also gives us plants for distributing on June 5th.

VI. NSS Students Activity

NSS volunteers are our partners in Green Clean Kozhikode project. They upload the photos of plants
they are caring for and also help the farmers and old age men who do not have internet knowledge.
Including NSS college wing in our project was inaugurated by Surabhi Laksmi. The film star, national
award winner at Government Arts and Science College at Meenchantha on --------. The joining of
NSS higher secondary wing was inaugurated by Baubu Parassery, District Panchayath President &
Pantheerankav HSSS on ………… NSS sapling save programme. A combined programme of 5 NSS
units was conducted at Kizhakkoth Panchayath as a part of Green Clean Kizhakkoth.
VII. Haritha Keralam Mission
Haritha Keralam Kozhikode Zilla Mission gives all support to our project. We together conducted
exhibition and campaign for sapling care competition. Minister TP Ramkrishnan awards prizes to
winners. We also have conducted drawing competitions for children to award them with prizes. Now
we are looking for support to make Pachaththuruthth Project successful. For that we are conducting
Haritha Keralam Pachaththuruth- Vrikshaththai Paripalana Malsaram. We give prizes to the best
Pachaththuruth uploads on our website.

VIII. SAVE -Thanal Vazhikal -Vrikshaththai Paripalana Malsaram - 50,000 plants

It is a joint venture of SAVE (Students Army for Vivid Environment) and GCEM Foundation, in
association with District Administration Kozhikode and social forestry. SAVE is an environmental
organization of students up to high school level. SAVE aims to plant and protect 50,000 plants at the
rate of 50 plants from a school. Social forestry has given the plants for the project. If they do so,
GCEM Foundation will give special prizes and awards to the best achievers.
IX. ICDS Kunchikkayyal-Vrikshaththai Paripalana Malsaram 30,000 plants
It is a joint venture of ICDS (Integrated Chiled Development Service) team and GCEM foundation
with the support of District administration Kozhikode and Social Forestry. There are 3000
Anganvadies in Kozhikode District. Each nursery will upload photos of at least 10 plants and expand
to a total number of 30000.If they meet these requirements, we will give special prizes and awards for
best achievers.

X. Kizhakkoth Panchayath-Green Clean Kizhakkoth

Kizhakkoth Grama Panchayath started to implement these activities in its 18 wards. They thus created
a project called Green Clean Kizhakkoth. It aims to make Kizhakkoth Panchayath self-sufficient in
green activities. They conducted a lot events including exhibition & home campaign with the support
of 250 NSS volunteers from 5 units.

XI. Kudumbashree Sapling Save Programme
Kudumbashree Sapling Save Program supports our project very well. We have achieved our pilot
project in Pathirikkad Gramam in ward no 1 of Koyiland Municipality. It was conducted by the
support of Kudumbashree units in that ward. We have conducted Polive – plant care competition for
that.

XII. Green Clean Villages
Green Clean Cheriya Kumbalam, Green Clean Cheruvadi, Green Clean Pannur, Green Clean
Kozhikode, Green Clean Kalpathoor, Green Clean Vazhoor, Green Clean Meladi & Green Clean
Kizhakkoth are some of the villages joined the competition. We have also conducted Ente
Poonthottam competition.
D. Financial Support
I. Kozhikode Zilla Panchayath- 5 lakhs rupees
Kozhikode Zilla Panchayath included the project in the budget of 2018-19 and allotted 5 lakhs rupees
to it. It implemented it through soil conservation department. Fruits & plants are distributed with the
message of www.GreenClean Earth.org sapling nurturing competition through schools and colleges
by collecting 20 % beneficiary contribution.

II. Indian oil corporation –Vipinam Plants Care Competition (Rs 3.5 lakhs)
We have submitted this report to Indian Oil Corporation and the issued 3.5 lakhs rupees for the event
through their VIPINAM environmental project.We distributed saplings and Easy fuel card as prizes to
winners in sapling selfie competition.

III. Service Co-operative Banks

Kizhakkoth Service Cooperative Bank, Avilora Service Cooperative Bank, Kozhikode Zilla
Electricity Board, Sahakarana Sangam, etc. have given donations for this project.

IV. Sponsorship from Business group.

E. Upcoming events

I. Planting Campaign
We conduct event for planting in certain locations and supply plants, fertilizers, agri-
instruments given by different agencies and educate people to care trees. In order to
inculcate competitive spirit, we would conduct competitions among people across
various activities mentioned above.
II. Prepare Kerala Plants directory
Prepare a Kerala plants directory and publish it on our website.
III. Prepare a Plants-Care-Chart
Prepare a chart to observe the progress and maintenance of the plants and provide
support accordingly.
IV. Facebook live green quiz competition and lucky.
We are going to conduct an online live Green quiz competition and conduct lucky
draw events giving prize and plants to winners. All these prizes are collected through
sponsorship.
V. Prize coupon distribution.
We issue lucky draw competition prize coupon through different events we are
conducting in Kozhikode district. This draw will conduct in live through our face
book page “Green Clean Kerala” and also on spot on the event day.
VI. Haritha Yathra.
We wish to submit this project report to all lsgd chair person. As an initiative we are
conducting a Haritha yathra (Green journey) 12 Block panchayath office and conduct
a live exhibition and of all kind of Green products. Solar products, waste management
system, electric vehicles, Agro equipment’s fertilizer’s. We will issue lucky draw for
Sapling nurturing completion.
VII. Green Privilege card.
We issue a digital green privilege card for all up loaders. People will get it from our
web site by entering their TREE NUMBER as password. (TREE NUMBER is the
registration number of their plants in our web site). A Green Privilege card holder will
get the following benefit from different agencies.
1) Discount for purchasing products from our tie up shops.
2) Degree students can show their uploaded plants to LSGD Chairpersons to get CSS
certificates. By scanning the privilege card, LSGD representative can verify the plants
nurtured by a student based on which the certificate can be issued.
3) Thozhilurappu team can show their plant in this card and can verify the plants.
 4) Notification of latest Government and private schemes for green activities on a
single platform.
5) Schools can avail discounts on our tie-up stores for buying various essentials
required for their maintenance.
6) Events will be conducted especially for the privilege card holders to appreciate
their interest in protecting environment.

VIII. GCEM FEST- Agro arts and sports competition

For selecting the best team in each category, we will conduct green competition i.e.
Green village competition (Haritha Grama Malsaram), Green home competition –
(Haritha Bhavana Malsaram), Green School competition (Haritha Kalalaya
malsaram), Green Institution Competition (Haritha Sthapana Malsaram), Agro arts
and sports competition etc. We also find the best person in arts, sports and any
activities which human can do, any person can join who already participated in
sapling nurturing competition. By this competition we find out the best activities in
Agriculture, Water, Energy, Garden, Waste management in Kozhikode district and
gain public attention to green activities through arts and sports.
i. Agricultural Competitions
The competition includes gardening, vegetable garden, medicinal plantation, tree
planting and paddy cultivation. Upload a short video of your garden on your
Facebook page using Green Clean Kerala tags. Copy the video post link and paste
it on our website. The best and most voted gardens will be visited by a judging
panel and the winners are announced. Farmers who has succeeded in the
development of innovative farming, a group of exemplary initiatives to promote
agriculture in a particular area would be given exclusive prizes. The awards are
presented in the following categories.
a. Water saving competitions
b. Energy saving competitions
ii. Green home competitions (Haritha Bhavana Malsaram)
(Energy & Water Conservation Waste Management)
Individuals, organizations, residents’ associations and groups can participate by
uploading a video showing positive actions taken towards waste management,
water conservation and energy conservation by you. Upload these videos on your
Facebook page of your home or organization or village. Copy the link and paste it
on our website. The best and most voted entries would be shown to the judging
panel and the winners will be announced based on judges’ decision. The best
home and fellowship, organization, awards and gifts are given.
iii. Quiz competition on environmental issues
A quiz competition on environmental issues is also being organized. Winners will
be chosen through an online quiz and a live competition will be announced.
iv. Literary Competitions
Story, poetry and essay writing are included in the literary competition. There are
four categories: HS, HSS, Degree, Any Age, and so on. Upload your
autobiography to your Facebook page through this website Winning awards and
prizes will be held by selecting the best performers and the most liked, share and
comment, and competing in the final finals at selected centres in Kozhikode city.
v. Art Competitions (Stage Programs)
Singing, Poetry Recitation, Speech, Single Dance, Group Dance, Oppana,
Thiruvathirakali, Mathram Kali, Kokkali, Kathakali, Ottum Thullal, Folk Dance
etc. Upload a short video of the art performance on your Facebook page through
 this website. Copy the link and paste it where it is requested on this website.
Winning awards and prizes by selecting the best performers and the most liked,
share and comment winners will run a direct final competition. The selection of
the finals will be based on your performance of 50% marks and the likes, share
and comments of 50% marks.
vi. Sports competitions
Competitions would be conducted in Volleyball, Football, Badminton, Cricket and
various sports, athletics. Upload a short video of your athletic performance to your
Facebook page through this website. Copy the link and paste it on our website
where it is requested. Winning awards and prizes by selecting the best performers
and the most liked, share and comment winners will run a direct final competition.

vii. Cooking competitions
Participation involves uploading the best food items with grains, vegetables and
fruits and uploading their videos on this website on Facebook. Awards and prizes
will be distributed by selecting the best performers and the most liked, share and
comment winners will contest for a final competition.
viii. Lifestyle competitions
Contestants are required to dress well and pose for a photo/video which is to be
uploaded on Facebook. The pictures with the most likes, shares & comments will
be awarded exciting prizes and will be nominated for the final competition.

This whole initiative aims to mobilize public awareness towards sapling nurturing and
other environment friendly tactics. These are the gist of benefits which would encompass this
initiative.
Inculcating Innovative Farming techniques among farmers, gardeners
All the practices in farming, nurturing plants, bringing awareness about a green clean
Earth would bring motivation among people to adopt the best practices.
Government is also very much interested in funding NGOs in the environmentally
friendly sector.
A positive competitive team spirit will form in people which in-turn will enable people
to care about the nature in terms of energy, water, waste management, plant nurturing and
various innovative farming techniques.
Green Activities are marketed in a huge scale.
Agriculture development will be taken to the next level because of the awareness and
innovative techniques.
Introduction of environmentally friendly equipment to the public like solar equipment,
waste management equipment etc. which encourages the usage of green machinery.

Based on the list of events the Green Clean Kozhikode budget for the year is estimated to be

 As a part of this initiative there are various opportunities for different stakeholders.
Government is also willing to contribute in green activities and the raising concerns about
environment degradation is motivating people to adopt green initiatives. The scale at which
Green Clean Earth Movement operates is huge and this eventually creates lot of awareness
and at the same time different marketing opportunities for companies, schools etc. We give
regular updates in an interval of 3 months on our progress and also achieving the target of 1
crore saplings would fetch national attention.

I. Our Challenges

Finding sponsors who are genuinely interested in the development of environment

and believe in the GCEM thought process and their motives towards Green Clean Earth. We
want both monetary and volunteer support from:
Government – Local Panchayats, District Collector’s Support
NGOs with similar motives – Volunteer support for our initiatives
Volunteers for Activity – People from different regions to organize events
Residence Associations – To improve their surrounding through our NGO
Student Organizations – Partnering with us for NSS, Environmental Club events
Corporate Companies – CSR donation which would be utilized for the betterment of
the society

J. Our Request
Students and Social Group
We want to inculcate the nature of caring Earth at an early stage for kids, so we want
to actively partner with the Schools and student organization by conducting NSS
activities, Environment Club events, Literary and Quiz competitions on
Environmental issues. The partnered Schools, Student Organizations will get all kind
of support including monetary funds, prizes, awards from the GCEM foundation. We
currently are running a competition for schools where if a school complete 1 lakh
saplings first then that school would get a Smart Classroom.
NSS (National service scheme), ICDS (Integrated Child development service), SAVE
(Students Army for Vivid environment) organizations have already partnered and
contributed lot to the environment. We wish to conduct more such events with
collaboration of SPC, NCC cadets and other environment clubs in educational
institutions.
Participation of CSS (Compulsory Social Service) Certificate for Degree
students:
We request LSGD and Chairperson of Degree colleges to partner with us for the
compulsory social service program. We conduct different activities partnering with
educational institutes and want them to provide certificates based on the work done
through our activities. We give you the measured progress report of what students
have done with the activities. It is a win-win situation for both the parties.
Support Government department
Kozhikode Zilla Panchayat, District Administration Kozhikode, Soil Conservation
department, Haritha Keralam Mission (Kudumbashree), Social forestry, Education
department, Kozhikode Corporation, Kozhikode Block Panchayat, Kizhakkoth Gram
Panchayat are already associated with us. We invite all other government department
like Agricultural departments who have activates related to Green activities to join our
movement.

Our Request to Corporates

Prudent utilization of your CSR funds would be done through our activities and
events. The progress of the events can be seen through our website and we also
release a progress report for every 3 months which gives clear indication of the fund’s
utilization. We wish to provide Green Privilege Cards for all the corporates who
partners with us.

Our request to Sponsors

Advertising on our platform will give extensive coverage for companies and will
prove to be a great investment for your business. We aim to program a direct
participation of 20 lakh people in Kerala. This event will attract a large Media
attention and is going to become a World record. Events like GCEM fest- Agro Arts
and Sports Competition will get huge attraction from the Kozhikode media and
people. We request all the companies to invest your advertisement budget through
GCEM foundation and rest assured your business would get maximum public reach.

Join Green Privilege Card team

We issue a privilege card to our Uploaders. We are ready to give you some “Plant gift
coupon” to you for certain amount. If anyone come to your shop with our Green Privilege
card, and make a business, give the plant coupon to them. If they show your plant coupon,
we will supply them plants in their native place through our outlets in Kozhikode district.
