STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Introducing myself, I am Sabina Deuja(daughter of Rabin Deuja and Shanta Deuja), born in 25 th
May 1994 at Katunje, Bhaktpur. I got married to Mr. Sujan k.c. on 27/11/2015. I have always
found my family very supportive in my studies and other activities related to my career. I feel so
lucky that my husband and my in-laws are also supportive. So, both family (my grandfather, my
sister-in-law and my father-in-law) are funding for my two years of study for Master of
Professional Accounting (MPA) in ATMC- University of the Sunshine Coast.

I did my schooling from Shree Padam Higher Secondary School securing 78.50% (first division)
in the year 2010. After that I joined management faculty in Modern Boarding Higher Secondary
School and completed my Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) examination in the year
2012 securing 80.20% (first division with distinction). Likewise, I did my 4 years Bachelor in
Business Administration (BBA) with specialization in finance from Nepal Commerce Campus
(NCC) affiliated to Tribhuvan University and completed in the year 2016 with CGPA of 3.91 out
of 4.00.It’s me proud to mention that I have been awarded as a TU Topper at 7 th semester as I
have obtained GPA of 4.00 out of 4.00.

I always had a dream of graduation from prestigious foreign university in Master of Accounting
or Professional Accounting as it was my inner field of interest to study. From the very beginning
of study at higher secondary school I wanted to work for a reputed company in Nepal. After
marriage, I always showed interest for contributing in our family business as I am passionate,
hardworking and determined. Being a scholar student my husband also wants me to do further
education and he always supported me for that too. He himself only insists me to go for aboard
education. Then I appeared for the IELTS examination in May 20, 2017 and I scored overall 6.5
bands.

After knowing about Australian living expenses and tuitions fees which is affordable than other
countries like UK, USA and Canada from seminars and various websites, I chose Australia over
other destinations. Among the several countries that offer education to international students, I
prefer Australia as my education destination for various reasons. First of all, Australia is a
popular destination for international students having a strong economy and high quality
education system with its sophisticated facilities and teaching resources. Secondly, the
government legislation and codes of conduct are applicable across the education spectrum and
serve to protect all students. While researching I found that universities in USA requires
GMAT/GRE whereas universities in Canada mostly focus on giving entries to PG Diploma course
for 3 years bachelors rather than offering directly master courses. The frequent alternation in
UKBA (UK Border Agency) immigration policies has made me aware for not choosing UK as my
study destination, as the changes affects the UK’s education system and also the students
studying there due to which future of hundreds of international students in the UK are in lurch.
In addition, UK does not provide Post Study Work permit that Australian Government offers for
students. Because of high amount of tuition fees and also high living expenses which are not
affordable I gave my preference to Australia for my Master program. Adding more, degrees
from Australian universities are widely recognized and appreciated all over the globe.
Australian educational institutions fall under top universities in the world due to quality of
education which further drag my inner heart to study in Australia with the trust. And, 2 years
PSW option in Australia helps us to gain international exposure professionally along with
international education. Australia has a diverse-multi cultural environment. The young and
energetic Australian society welcomes international students.

I choose Master of Professional Accounting and the course which I intend to study is not
available in my home country in any of universities :Pokhara University (PU), Tribhuvan
University(TU),Kathmandu University(KU) and Purbanchal University (PU). Although similar
courses for master degree like Master in Finance, Master in Banking, Master in Business
Administration (MBA) and Master of Business Studies (MBS) are being offered in our home
country but no formal Master Degrees or Accounting and finance major courses like Master of
Professional Accounting are offered here in Nepal. Therefore, with absolute consideration I am
planning to do my Master degree from Australia which is emerging as the best destination for
international student across the globe.
Sydney, being most populous city in Australia and state capital of New South Wales (NSW)
located in the eastern coast, is the prime destination to choose among other cities in Australia.
Sydney holds appropriate living conditions in respects of the climates and the residents there.
Its quality education, global recognition, cost of living and working opportunities and a friendly
environment always adds up to choose Sydney. Most important of all, for international
students like me, Sydney provides wide range of accommodation at affordable cost. A student
can easily choose for hostels, guesthouses, rental property, on-campus housing, residential
colleges and apartments.

USC which is in partnership with ATMC is my choice because of it superior ranking and
reputation, fee structures, academic excellence, quality study options, student support, career
counseling and facilities and more.USC is the most affordable and have practical course content
covering projects as well. I have selected USC at it offers quality education by highly qualified
teaching staff. The faculty and quality of teaching israted very highly at USC and it has been
given 5 stars for teaching quality.I have selected USC in collaboration with ATMC Sydney
campus. At ATMC, I will get the small class size and I can enjoy the learning experience
withpersonalize attention of the teachers. USC-ATMC also offers Work Integrated
Learningmodel which will help me getting practical exposure. I can get student mentorship
program at ATMC through which I can get access of senior student who will help me in my
studies.

The beauty of MPA program at USC is that I can earn three prized professional memberships:

 Associate member of CPA Australia

 The Institute of Chartered Accountants
 The Institute of Public Accountants

The MPA opens many doors for me to work in senior management roles and build myself a top
notch career. I will qualify to work in roles such as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Business
Strategist, a Chartered Accountant, or as a key professional in the fast growing wealth
management sector. Not only that the university offers diverse cultural mix which allows me
with exposure to these culture and learn from them, USC has the top employability rate which
made me more confident for choosing the university as it assures the job opportunities to some
extent.

Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) is a 2-year full-time program in which I should

complete altogether 16 courses for 192 units. Of the 16 courses, 14 are introductory courses
which are combination of Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Business Analysis, Reporting and
Taxation. I will study these subjects in my both years plus I will be getting opportunity to get
practical exposure through Managerial Project in my last year. There are also 2 electives
subjects from which I will be choosing Accounting for Managers and Economics for Managers.

At last I am aware that I should follow the following condition under my visa subclass (500)
while living in Australia:-
 Maintain at least an 80% attendance record during my studies
 Clear 50% subjects in each term
 Maintain payment of Tuition fees by the census date of each term
 Ensure that I have my Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of my
student visa
 I am eligible to work part time for 40 hours for fortnight
 I cannot change the university unless I complete 6 months in USC

After completion of MPA in Australia, I want to turn on as an accountant professional - a

confident, qualified and competent enough to work for multinational companies across the
global. Nepal is in the phase of rapid economic growth so here is potential need of
knowledgeable accounting professional able to deal with practical scenario. I have plan to
return to my country Nepal and work for leading multinational firms as an accounting
professional dealing with different companies, and financial situations.

My husband is accompanying me in Australia because we are emotionally attached and he will

support me so that I can fully concentrate on my studies. Since my father in laws is owning a
business and My husband is the youngest son in the family he is very much attached to his
parents and want to support them in their old age. Even I can also give my Father in law a
supporting hand to look into the accounts of our family business so after finishing our visa
tenure we will be returning back to Nepal. Moreover, I am so much emotionally and culturally
connected to my family and my country that I cannot stay abroad for long time being detached
with them.
I declare that the particulars given above are true and correct in every detail. I understand that
incorrect or misleading statements may result in refusal of my admission and/or student visa
application.
