Advantages and disadvantages of traditional healing

Advantages:
It’s cost effective.

There are many traditional healers in SA.

It’s a huge service industry; it has great potential to our economy

Government can’t get doctors to go work in the rural areas so traditional healers are happy to
live in rural cities.

Disadvantages:
Both medicines can be dangerous if not used properly. Certain herbs can interact with drugs,
producing dangerous results.

There is no legal degree or examination needed to be a traditional healing.

There are no controls. They can give any herbs for whatever reason. It can be harmful to the
environment.

There is no clinical testing to the herbs and remedies.

Advantages and disadvantages of modern healing.


Advantages :
One of the biggest advantages of traditional medicine is the ability to treat emergency
medical issues such as broken bones, and a heart attack quickly.

Technology is rapidly advancing. Clean and hygienic operations are performed. There is less
chance that one would die forming dieses due to all the new discoveries.

Disadvantages:
It’s very expensive. It’s not available to all people. Limited avalibleity of facilities
