ALEXIS JHON C.

GONZALES BSCS 1 A
 How did Rizal use education as a tool for nationalism?

As for me, Dr. Jose Rizal is both a Nationalist and a Patriot. Why? He is an advocate for great reforms during Spanish
era that shows his love for our country, the Philippines. He is an author of a books that has shown his principles that
up to day, people are still learning from it. It shows love for our country because he desires unity for his country
without any violent actions or any revolution act towards people who are making themselves as a superior to
Filipinos but uses his knowledge and virtues by writing novels.

 Why Dr. Jose Rizal objected vehemently to revolution or use of brute force to achieve freedom?

He repudiated the revolution because he thought that reforms to be successful should come from above. It could
be understandable that the hero thought of such because it was the belief of the prevailing class to
which Rizal belonged.

 How Dr. Jose Rizal prove that pen is mightier than sword?

Rizal proved that pen is mightier than a sword. For his expertise in writings enable him to convince his whole
fellowmen to attain justice, thus destroying an empire. For words flies wherever and ignites every man’s feelings.
Just like as a saying says that word is powerful, there comes positive and negative in it. It could heal one’s heart but
also harm another like a double edged sword. Rizal have a God fearing heart so that he have ignite change and
peace and thus mean we Filipinos should have a good conscience and God fearing heart to impose positive
changes.

 Who were the women in Rizal’s life and what is his relationship to them?

Segunda Katigbak – First Love

Leonor Valenzuela – Girl Next Door
Nillie Boustead – Rizal and Nellie met in Biarritz
Suzanne Jacoby – Suzanne Wrote Rizal Letters
Josephine Bracken – Rizal Wife
Leonor Rivera – Rizal Second Cousin
Consuelo Ortiga – Engaged to Rizal friend
O Sei San – Rizal Love at japan
Gertrude Beckette - Daughter of his landlord in London

 If you have given an opportunity to ask Rizal face to face what would you ask him? Give at least 3
question.

 Do you have in mind to become a president of the Philippines?

 why did you represent your works as a story and why did you used figures of speech instead of directly
saying it?
 why he did not write in other languages other than Spanish considering his reported proficiency in English,
German, Chinese, French, Filipino etc.

 What is the signifance in studying Rizal Life’s?

1.To rededicate the lives of youth to the ideals of freedom and nationalism, for which our heroes lived and died

2. To pay tribute to our national hero for devoting his life and works in shaping the Filipino character
