A suspect behind the killing of driver Jang Lucero is currently detained at the
Calamba Police Station, the authorities announced yesterday.
Ann Sheila Montes Belarmino was arrested after she was positively identified by
a witness from a CCTV footage, a statement from the police said. She was
actually captured on Friday afternoon but it was only announced by the
authorities yesterday. No bail was recommended for the suspect, who has been
charged with murder.
Meanwhile, Laguna police are looking for five other suspects in relation to the
case.

Captain Mary Ann Torres said Belarmino is the alleged mastermind behind
Lucero’s killing, according to a witness.
“She is the suspect based on the CCTV footage, as well as based on the
statement of the witnesses. She is also being tagged as the mastermind in this
case. We are still establishing the motive,” Torres said in an interview with the
radio station DZBB.
Calabarzon police chief Brigadier General Vicente Danao said they will ensure
that the other suspects will be caught.
“We will make sure that the other suspects to the killing of Jang Lucero will fall in
the hands of the authorities. We will maximize our efforts so that the remaining
suspects will be put behind bars and that justice will be served,” Danao said.
A resident of Pasay City, Lucero worked as a for-hire driver after she lost her
restaurant job due to the pandemic. Her body, which bore 52 stab wounds, was
found inside her car along the Bucal Bypass Road in Calamba, Laguna. She died
due to hemorrhage.
