Together we are able!
So much has happened since the last issue of the
Barn Bulletin in March. In a world that is ever
changing and sometimes unfamiliar we
grateful for the consistency that horses provide.
We know that this too shall pass as we anticipate
the hope of the future.
While so much of the world around us can be
focused on what we are not able to do right now,
we find joy in remembering there is so much that
we are able to do!
We hear time and time again that Wings of Hope
is a place of sanctuary, that the barn is a place of
refuge, and that the horses and humans of this
place provide hope and healing.
Each of the 18 Equine Therapy Partners at Wings
of Hope has a story and a voice. But more
importantly each of these horses represents a
child or an adult with a disability, and gives them a
voice. A voice of empowerment. A voice
inclusion. A voice of victory. A voice of power.
The power of the partnership between a horse and
their human is a force to be reckoned with. You
see so many of the families that we serve live in a
world that is full of uncertainties or unfavorable
odds. Wings of Hope and the horses that fulfill this
mission serve as a place that focuses on abilities
and strengths.

The power of the partnership impacts everyone at Wings of Hope in a unique
way. After speaking with many of our equestrians, volunteers, and community
supporters we know we are better together. We know that the future is bright
and we are grateful that horses play such a vital role in the journey that leads
us from today to tomorrow. Below is a first hand account of what the
partnership of a horse at Wings of Hope means.

We are so proud of the smile in this beautiful
picture! We know that it truly does represent
confidence. It has been a blessing to observe
Leighton gain confidence while learning to sit
at the trot, perfect a barrel pattern, and to ride in
harmony with Posa. The joy of this smile epitomes
of a love for horses that translates into a love of
developing new skills and learning about service
as we have watched this young woman recently obtain her first job.
When families initially walk into the barn it may be through a spirit of fear, but
through the partnership of a horse we see anxieties transform into beautiful
bright smiles. Together, through the partnership of a horse, we are able!

about Round-Up for Riders
ALLISON GROSS

In a climate where we are all feeling the demands of a virtual world with scheduled
Zoom meetings, Facebook Live events, tele-docs and more we respect the need to
refrain from transitioning the Round-Up that we know and love into a virtual or hybrid
event in 2020. This event has always been an anchor to fund the mission while bringing
friends and family together to learn about, celebrate and honor the partnerships
formed at Wings of Hope.

We find it fitting to wait until we are able to join together to do just that, and enjoy the
fun and fellowship that honors and maintains the tradition of the annual Party with a
Purpose. Afterall why fix something that isn't broke?! We had a blast in 2019 at a new
venue hanging out with Coco the Equine Therapy Partner, dining on delicious Texas
cuisine and listening to serenades from Dan Quinn. In 2021 we want to pick up right
where we left off! Afterall, I think we can all agree 2020 has been a rollercoaster and we
all just need a minute to catch our breath and come together to spread hope and healing.

As we respect the gravity of the social and economic effects on our local businesses and
sponsors that so generously underwrite and support this event we want to be mindful
that we must all adapt together in a way that allows us to each comfortably and
financially support the mission!
IF WE CAN'T PARTY TOGETHER, LET'S PIVOT TOGETHER!

While prioritizing the health and well-being of our donors and friends we
will pivot from this year's party and raise funds
through a movement to continue providing services until we can party
with a purpose together again in 2021.

In lieu of your purchase for this year's event

consider donating the cost of your table, ticket,
and auction items to fund the mission.
Every year Round-Up for Riders raises 35-40% of the operating funds needed
to provide the power of the partnership between horses and humans, and
celebrates and honors the Equestrians and Equine Therapy Partners of
Wings of Hope.

Together, we are able, and we will continue to provide the

power of the partnership!
