EXPERIMENTAL SET-UP

‰ Collimation system adjusted to 30 x 30 cm2 field at 1 m from the focus of the x-ray tube;

‰ Exposure parameters: 100 kVp and 1 mA; values normalized to 1 min of scopy;

‰ Equivalent water phantom 30 x 30 x 20 cm;

‰ Focus-Phantom Distance of 65 cm;

‰ Measures performed at two different heights (“x-ray tube height” and “phantom height”), in the horizontal,

lateral and front planes in respect of the x-ray system;

‰ Air kerma measures performed with an environmental ionization chamber (Victoreen 451P, serial No. 1420)

calibrated by Global Calibration Laboratory (Cleveland, OH, USA) at the energy of the Cs-137 (E = 662 keV)

(calibration report No. 1470-12-15-2006) (Tolerance Statement of measure during calibration: inaccuracy

±10%);

‰ Positioning inaccuracy of environmental ionization chamber: ± 5 cm;

‰ Time measurement inaccuracy: ± 1 s (time counter of radiological unit).
