Introduction

In Gauss-Seidel method for Power flow, we assume the

voltage for all the buses except the slack bus where the
voltage magnitude and phase angle are specified and
remained fixed. Normally, we set the assume voltage
magnitude and phase angle of these buses equal to that of
the slack bus and work in per unit system.

The assumed bus voltage and the slack bus voltage along
with P and Q are substituted in RHS of the Equation to
obtain new set of bus voltages. After the entire iteration
is complete, the new set of bus voltages is again
substituted along with the specified slack bus voltage in
the RHS of Equation to obtain a new set of bus voltages.

This table shows the values of the Power flow computed using the
Gauss-seidel method. It displays Voltage (in per unit), angle,
and the load and generation in MW and Mvar value.

Conclusion

Therefore, using the Gauss-seidel method in determining the

Power flow, the Reactive power is ¼ of the Real power. In this
activity the value of the load power in the Bus 1 is zero but,
it has a generated power, while the other remaining Buses are in
reverse with Bus 1 which is they have all zero generated power.
In terms of their angle all the buses have negative angle except
for Bus 1 which have zero angle, all angles are in degrees.
