Key Points and Decisions:


Future name references – It was agreed by everyone present that all names will in future be referenced
with a first name and last initial – this was to avoid the confusion of the multiple ways of addressing
senior members of the team. Thank you everyone for agreeing on this to prevent mistakes being made
unintentionally.

Recognition – Organizing committee for health care workers parade, Yoga classes, Monday Night
Shanti Prayer group and Food Bank donation organizers.

Opening Remarks/Introduce Functionaries

Building Maintenance – Deepa S reported on temple maintenance. Recycle is not picked up – Prabhat S
agreed to call the city on this matter. Gate derailing has been corrected and is now working. The matter
about contamination through wearing sandals from the exit to the shoe rack was deemed as a non-
issue.

Unfinished/Important items

Krishna J requested for a volunteer for the recently vacated Income Assurance position and Amit C
graciously accepted. Sameer R agreed to take the public relations to the next level and engage multiple
avenues of media to promote our presence. Moushmi D agreed to follow up as well.

Subcommittee Reports

Temple reopening – is going well – we have in place all state requirements.


Upcoming events – June 21st – Prabhat S is having an event at the temple, need to coordinate with
Balvihar and Yoga day activities, also limit number of attendees with RSVP and the rest on zoom.The
legal aspects of not complying with the covid rules and regulations were discussed, Venu W took an AR
to investigate if signatures on a form was sufficient to protect the temple if the organizers failed to
follow the rules. Deepa S agreed to add a note into the rental agreement to cover the covid regulations.
Guru Poornima was the next upcoming event and Swapna S was asked to brainstorm ideas on how to
execute this. June 28th event that came through Santosh M/Arnab B was also on the calendar. The July
5th event for Women Against Crime was also one of the upcoming events.

Annual Event – Pritha G was keeping up the spirits and staying on top of securing the venue as soon as
things opened up – a tentative date of September 26th was put on he books. Other venues were
discussed and considered to be out of the budget for this year’s event.

Bookkeeping /Treasurer Report/ - account balances were reported – in addition the mailbox was
opened, and mail collected. Several ARs were assigned to provide information on the increase in income
after the appeal went on in May compared to previous months with/without major events. What are
the current liquid assets the temple must plan for relocation purposes – provide a balance sheet for
awareness.

Temple Planning Yagnesh P reported on meeting that was held and appraisal of temple location and
Rio Rancho land to have an idea for future planning. Imesh V was expected to provide some appraisal
values. Sameer R took an AR to look into the city purchasing our property.

General Body Meeting – Venu W, brought up the fact that a GBD should be held. Krishna J made it clear
that we needed to be up to par before the GBM to have the Bylaws approved by trustees, have the
membership directory UpToDate and the clarity on treasury reports. To meet the GBD date of August
16th the reports should be in order by August 1st.

Membership – Venu W reiterated the necessity for a GBM to discuss income generation ideas namely
the Membership Drive. Moushmi D requested that there should be an acknowledgement for the
donations that have been made and Deepa S took an AR to send out the thank you notes. It was
suggested the document for membership benefits be sent out in an email to the community. Deepa S
was nominated to give the distinction between membership dues and annual dues

Income generation – The many avenues that non profits could benefit during this time was discussed
and many AR’s assigned – pleas refer to AR list.

Next meeting – July 12th due to conflict of WAV event.
