SUBJECT:
Troubleshooting Various E075 Causes
This Technical Publication has been revised to reflect new servicing procedures to address E075 causes.

GENERAL:
This Technical Publication details troubleshooting steps to ensure the performance of the ITB Assembly
when addressing the issue of a full displacement of the Intermediate Transfer Belt (E075).

DETAILS:
An E075 can occur when replacing the Intermediate Transfer Belt in the field or while the machine is in use
by the customer.
Checking the values under COPIER > DISPLAY > MISC > ITB-POS indicates the position of the ITB Belt
[1] of P-1. If the value exceeds -300 to +450, an imbalance of displacement to the ITB Belt can occur [A]. If
this happens, an E075 error code will occur.

NOTE:
Before replacing the ITB Assembly, Canon USA strongly recommends following this
Technical Publication to identify the root cause of the issue at hand.

NOTE:
Please identify the visual checks to determine the present condition of the ITB Assembly; there
are four to check.
1. Checking the Bushing.
2. Checking the Front and Rear Transfer Arms.
3. Checking the position of the ITB and the Belt Guide.
4. Checking the condition of the Inner 2nd Transfer Roller.

1. Remove the outer frame of the ITB Assembly and inspect the following, [A].

[A] [A]

If the Bushing(s), FC8-4479-010, is bent as shown above, [A] do not replace the bushing(s), replacement of the
ITB Assembly is necessary (see note on page 7).
NOTE: Upon replacement, if an E075 reoccurs please, follow the Servicing Procedure on page 6 of this
Technical Publication.
If the bushings in the picture above are not bent, please proceed with the next visual check of this Technical
Publication on page 2.

SER
RVICING PROCEDUR RE:
1. When the values
v are ouut of range, use
u the folloowing proceddure to achieeve the targeeted values. The
T
directions state
s to initiaally turn twoo rotations; more
m rotationns could be performed
p too achieve thee desired
range. A maximum
m of four rotationns could be achieved.

Rotate thhe Right Fron nt adjuster clockwise tw

wo rotations. Run COPIE ER > FUNCT TION > MIS SC-P >
ITB-INIT T. Then checck the value of COPIER R > DISPLAY Y > MISC > ITB-POS. If I the value achieves
a
the rangee noted, test the machinee by makingg some copiees, turn the machine
m OFFF/ON, then execute
e
COPIER R > FUNCTIO ON > MISC C-P > ITB-IN
NIT. Executee ITB-POS again.
a If the values stay the
t same
or withinn the range, the
t process is completedd. Achieving a value thatt is as close to
t zero is benneficial to
minimiziing E075 errror codes.
