IMPULSIVITY – THE CONTROL OF OUR IMPULSES

 Is the feeling, urge or temptation to do or say something. All of us have impulses.

Some impulses can lead us in trouble. Sometimes we end up feeling sorry about
what we have done. Bad choices leads to bad consequences.

 We show our impulses when we are angry (hit the desk, say hurting words),
sometimes when we are excited, sometimes when we want to avoid
responsibilities.

 What would happen if everybody would give in to all of our impulses?

 What is important, though, is asking yourself, “Am I in charge of my impulses or

are my impulses are in charge of me?”

 What are some examples of impulses from your own life? (everyday life, at home,
classroom?)

- Impulse to play
- Impulse to eat something
- Play video games

You don’t play anywhere you want

- Watch a movie when I’m supposed to be working.

- Go with my friends for a bike ride instead of doing my laundry.
- Sometimes I wanted to skip class to play video games with my friends.
