Problem Description

Consider an under damped second order system with an additional first-order mode. The transfer
function for a unity-gain system of this type is ;

( )=
( ∗ + 1) ∗ ( +2∗ ∗ + )

The natural frequency of this system is 10Hz. Value of damping ratio for this system is 0.3.
The time constant value is 0.01 sec.

(a). Design the Continuous state space model output by applying step input into it.

(b). Design the discretize state space model output by applying step input into it.
The discretize model is having sampling time of 0.01 sec.

(c). Calculate the discrete time steady state error of the system for the step input mathematically
and on (MATLAB) also comment on it.

(d). Design a discrete time state feedback controller for the system. (MATLAB)

Note: We have an external feedback element K, the system is said to be a closed-loop system.
Without this feedback element, the system is said to be an open-loop system. K is a constant
matrix that is external to the system, and therefore can be modified to adjust the locations of the
poles of the system. This technique can only work if your system is controllable.
