Take the Long Island Expressway to Exit
62 - Nicholls Road (Route 97) North. Follow

On Tuesday, March 15th, the Long Island GLBT
Services Network will hold the 16th Annual
Long Island GLBT Conference at the Stony
Brook University Student Activities Center. This
Conference is held every year as a summit about
meeting the needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual,
and transgender (GLBT) community.
For the past 15 years, the Long Island GLBT
Conference has provided a unique opportunity
for people throughout the lifespan to discuss
the needs of the GLBT community, learn how to
become better advocates, and create positive
change. The Conference is intended for anyone
committed to creating a safer and more
equal Long Island for the GLBT community.
Attendees include high school and university
students, K-12 and university educators and
administrators, human services providers,
health care professionals, and all community
members seeking to learn more about the
needs of Long Island’s GLBT community.
The Long Island GLBT Conference is presented
by The Long Island GLBT Services Network,
an association of five non-profit organizations
serving Long Island’s GLBT community
throughout the lifespan: Long Island Gay and
Lesbian Youth (LIGALY), The Long Island GLBT
Community Center (The Center), Services and
Advocacy for GLBT Elders - Long Island (SAGE-
LI), The East End Gay Organization (EEGO)
and Equality Long Island (EQLI). Together, the
organizations are committed to eradicating
homophobia and transphobia, providing a
home and safe space for Long Island’s GLBT
community, and advocating for equality.
We look forward to seeing you on March 15th
for this powerful day of education, networking,
and community organizing!
