Q1 State and explain Ohm’s Law, Kirchoff’s voltage and current lawsin context with DC
circuits.
Q2 Consider the circuit shown in Figure. Reduce the portion of the circuit to the left of
terminals a–b to (a) a Thévenin equivalent and (b) a Norton equivalent. Find the current
through R = 16 Ω.

Q3 Derive an expression for the voltage across the capacitor during charging through the
resistor at any instant Vc = V(1-e-t/RC). Assume that RC series circuit is connected across a
DC supply of voltage V.
Q4 In the network shown below, find the current through the 10 Ω resistance using
superposition theorem.

Q5 Find the resistance between Terminals A and B of the network shown.

Q6 Explain the rise and decay of current in RL series circuit. Assume that RL series circuit is
connected across a DC supply of voltage V.
Q7 Two bulbs A and B are connected in series. A is a 100 W, 200V bulb and B is 100 W, 250 V
bulb. They are connected across a 250 V supply. Calculate (i) Circuit Current (ii) Voltage
across each lamp assuming the bulb reistance to remain unchanged.

Q8 A capacitor of 50 µF is in series with 100Ω resistor. This branch is suddenly connected across
a 100 v dc supply. Find (i) Time constant of the circuit (ii) Initial current (iii) current equation
as a function of time (iv) voltage across the resistor after 6m sec.
