Let’s Create No. 1

Assessment technique: Report making
Task: Individual
Objective: To enable students:
• to understand and observe the concept of friction
• to identify examples of friction in our daily life
• to differentiate between advantageous and disadvantageous examples of friction
• to understand, collect, and organize data
• to create a report

What to do:
1. Students should be able to understand what has been taught in class and identify
examples of friction on their own.
2. Students should then list the examples in a table.
3. For each example they should try to identify whether friction is advantageous or
disadvantageous to us.
4. Students should write a report based on their observations.
5. Students should discuss and share in the class what they have observed and collected.

Assessment should be based on the following:

5 marks for identifying the examples
3 marks for differentiating between advantageous and disadvantageous
1 mark for neatness and timely submission
1 mark for attitude towards the activity
Total marks: 10
